- This card can be searched by "Tindangle Jhrelth", "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess", "Subterror Succession", "Prediction Princess Tarotreith", "Prediction Princess Coinorma", "Spirit of the Fall Wind", "Magician's Circle", "Thelematech Cratis", "Dragodies, the Empowered Warrior", "Arnis, the Empowered Warrior", "Spellbook Star Hall", "Spellbook of Judgment", "The Grand Spellbook Tower", "Familiar-Possessed - Dharc", "Lucky Loan", "Lemon Magician Girl", "Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous", "Shadow's Light", "Shining Angel", "Photon Veil", "Chaos Zone", "Sphere of Chaos", "Serpentine Princess", "Battle Royal Mode - Joining", "Vampire Dragon", "Rescue Ferret", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- Use this card with "Centrifugal Field" to revive powerful Fusion Materials such as "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" or one of the Fusion Materials of "Naturia Exterio".
- Equip a Union Monster such as "Heavy Mech Support Platform" to have the Union Monster destroyed instead of the Fusion Monster.
- Bear in mind that "Heavy Mech Support" can only be equipped to Machine-Type monsters, so if you wish to use this strategy with some of this card's most powerful Summons ("Master of Oz" or "Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon"), play "DNA Surgery" first to make all monsters Machine-Type.
- "Naturia Exterio" is a great card to Summon with this card as it prevents your opponent from playing Spell or Trap Cards. Combine it with "Mound of the Bound Creator" to protect it and have an unstoppable force on your field.
- Combining this face-down monster with "Pinpoint Guard" will make its effect much easier to activate.
- Use cards such as "Book of Eclipse" "Book of Moon", "Card Guard", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", "D.D. Sprite", "Different Dimension Gate", "Stardust Spark Dragon", "Forbidden Dress" or "Dimensionhole" to keep the Fusion Monster from being destroyed.
- "Gaia Drake, the Universal Force" (3500 ATK), "Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir, and "Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon are not destroyed by the effect of "Summoner of Illusions".
- "Summoner of Illusions" can work in a Ghostrick Deck, since it can remain face-down, then Tribute a Ghostrick to Summon "Gaia Drake, the Universal Force".
- This card works well in a "Destiny HERO" deck.
- It can bring out the difficult to Fusion Summon "Destiny HERO - Dusktopia", who can prevent itself from being destroyed by "Summoner of Illusions" negative effect.
- It can summon "Destiny HERO - Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer", who will be able to destroy an opponent's card, as well as bring back a Destiny HERO monster from your Graveyard - however it will not be able to bring itself back in this case, as it was not Fusion Summoned.
- It can be flipped face up on your turn to summon "Destiny End Dragoon" if the opponent has a high ATK monster, allowing them to destroy the monster and deal damage.
- "Soul Exchange" can be used to Tribute your opponent's monster instead of your own.
- Use this card's effect to Special Summon a monster with extremely high ATK from your Fusion Deck (such as "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" or "Master of Oz") and Tribute it to Summon "Great Maju Garzett"" with up to 9000 ATK.
- When building a Deck based around this card, you can use "Treeborn Frog" for easy Tribute fodder.
- This card works well with cards like "Miracle Fusion" and "Dragon's Mirror". Just Summon a Fusion Monster that is also a Fusion Material (such as "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon"), and it is usable for a Fusion Summon even if it gets sent to the Graveyard.
- This card provides a very easy way to Summon "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon", allowing you to Summon "Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" that turn, instead of letting it be destroyed by the effect of "Summoner of Illusions".
- Use "Book of Taiyou", "Ghostrick Scare", "Desert Sunlight" or "Chaos Infinity" to use this card effect the same turn you set him. This will allow you to easily Summon strong monsters. However, you have to have a target such as "Meklord Army of Wisel" in order to activate "Chaos Infinity".
- If you active this card during your turn (by setting it a turn before or using cards like "Book of Taiyou"), you can use "Soul Exchange" beforehand to tribute an enemy monster instead.
- A good combo with these cards is have "Summoner of Illusions" face-down and use "Chaos Infinity", then Tribute the monster that was Summoned by "Chaos Infinity". For this combo to work, there must be at least one other monster other than "Summoner of Illusions".
- Use "The Shallow Grave", "Morphing Jar #2" or "Burst Rebirth" to Special Summon "Summoner of Illusions" face-down.
- "Summoner of Illusions" has many OTK combos, many of which rely on Summoning "Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine" and attacking weak monsters twice.
- Use "Ojama Trio" while controlling a face-down "Summoner of Illusions" and "Chaos Infinity". Use "Chaos Infinity" to switch the Tokens to Attack Position and flip "Summoner of Illusions". Special Summon "Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine", then attack the tokens twice with his 4000 ATK to deal 8000 in battle damage and 2000 in effect damage.
- "Chaos Infinity" can be combined with "D.D. Sprite" to do a twofold effect, protect the Fusion Monster and help Synchro Summon in the same turn. Have a monster, "Summoner of Illusions" and "Chaos Infinity" on the field. Use "Chaos Infinity" to Summon Meklord Army of Wisel and flip "Summoner of Illusions" to Summon any Fusion Monster (preferably "Naturia Exterio"). Then Special Summon "D.D. Sprite" from your hand by banishing the Summoned Fusion Monster. You can now Synchro Summon for a Level 4, 5 or 8 monster. ("D.D. Sprite" is Level 1, "Summoner of Illusions" is Level 3 and "Meklord Army of Wisel" is Level 4.) "Stardust Dragon" and "Stardust Spark Dragon" are good options.
- "Invoked Raidjin" can Flip itself face-down.
- Summon Fusion Monsters that have an immediately usable effect, like "Thousand-Eyes Restrict" (which takes an opponent's monster with it when it is destroyed) or "King Dragun" (you can instantly Special Summon one Dragon-Type monster from your hand).
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Last Will".
- You can use "Metamorphosis" to transform the "Illusion" you created into another version of itself, which will stay on the field.
