- Q: If the Link Summon of "Akashic Magician" is negated by "Solemn Strike", can I Link Summon a second "Akashic Magician" during the same turn?
- A: Even if the Link Summon of "Akashic Magician" was negated by "Solemn Strike", you cannot Link Summon another "Akashic Magician" during the same turn.[1]
- Q: When "Akashic Magician" is Link Summoned, its effect that returns the monsters that it points to to the hand activates. If there is a Token monster in my opponent's Main Monster Zone that "Akashic Magician" points to, how does its effect resolve?
- A: When resolving the effect of "Akashic Magician", if there is a Token in the Monster Zone that it points to, the effect is still applied to it. The Token disappears when it leaves the field, and is not returned to the hand.[2]
- Q: When "Akashic Magician" is Link Summoned, its effect that returns the monsters that it points to to the hand activates. If my opponent chains "Enemy Controller" and takes control of "Akashic Magician", how does its effect resolve?
- A: When resolving the effect of "Akashic Magician", if that "Akashic Magician" switched control, its effect is applied to whichever monster is in a Monster Zone it points to after changing control. (The monster(s) that it pointed to at the time the effect was activated do not return to the hand.)[3]
- Q: While the effect of "Mistake" is applying, can I activate the second effect of "Akashic Magician"?
- A: The second effect of "Akashic Magician" cannot be activated while the effect of Mistake is applying. Also, if "Mistake" is chained to the effect of "Akashic Magician", you still excavate cards from the top of your Deck, but all excavated cards including any declared cards are sent to the Graveyard.[4]
- Q: My "Akashic Magician" is co-linked with my "Firewall Dragon". In this situation, if there are 3 of less cards in my Deck, can I activate the second effect of "Akashic Magician"?
- A: In this scenario, while "Akashic Magician" is co-linked with "Firewall Dragon", you cannot activate the second effect of "Akashic Magician" unless the number of cards in your Deck is 4 or more, since "Firewall Dragon" has 4 Link Arrows. If you activate the effect of "Akashic Magician", but then chain "Call of the Haunted" and Special Summon a Link Monster so that the number of Link Arrows that the co-linked monsters have is greater than the number of cards in your Deck, you will excavate all remaining cards in your Deck when resolving the effect.[5]
- Q: My "Akashic Magician" is in the Extra Monster Zone, and a co-linked "Firewall Dragon" is in the Main Monster Zone beneath it. If I activate the effect of "Akashic Magician" by declaring "Arrivalrivals", what happens if there are 2 copies of "Arrivalrivals" among the 4 excavated cards?
- A: In this scenario, if you excavate more than 1 copy of the declared card when resolving the effect of "Akashic Magician", all copies are added to your hand while the remaining cards are sent to the Graveyard.[6]
