Card Rulings:Future Visions
TCG Rulings
- This effect targets the Normal Summoned monster.[1]
- If you Normal Summon “Necroface” while “Future Visions” is face-up and activate the effect of “Necroface” as Chain Link 1, “Necroface” will return itself to the Deck. After the Chain has resolved, the effect of “Necroface” to remove [sic] cards from the Deck will activate since “Necroface” had been removed from play [sic] by “Future Visions.”[1]
- The controller of each monster removed [sic] by “Future Visions” decides which Monster Card Zone it will be placed in when it returns.[1]
- The controller of the monster(s) removed [sic] by “Future Visions” decides when during their Standby Phase they will activate the effect to return the monster(s) to the field.[1]
- If more than one monster is removed [sic] by the effect of “Future Visions” they are all returned to the field at the same time.[1]
- If 2 of your monsters are removed from play [sic] by “Future Visions” but during the Standby Phase you have only 1 open Monster Card Zone, you choose 1 monster to return to the field and send the other monster to the Graveyard.[1]
- If you have “Future Visions” face-up on the field and it removes one of your monsters from play [sic], if your opponent activates his own “Future Visions” your monster will remain removed from play [sic]. (“Future Visions” #1 is not “Future Visions” #2.)[1]
- If “Book of Moon” is Chained to the effect of “Future Visions” the monster will still be removed from play [sic].[1]
- Both effects of “Future Visions” start a Chain.[1]
OCG Rulings
- The effect that banishes the Normal Summoned monster starts a Chain Link.[2]
- This effect always activates when a player Normal Summons a monster.[2]
- This effect targets the 1 monster that a player Normal Summoned face-up.[2]
- The effect that returns the banished monster to the field starts a Chain Link. (It does not target. It is applied to the monster that was banished by "Future Visions" when it was Normal Summoned. Also, returning the banished monster to the field is not treated as a Special Summon.)[2]
- Q: Which player chooses the Main Monster Zone the banished monster will be placed in when it returns to the field?
- A: When a monster banished by the effect of "Future Visions" returns to the field, the player that Normal Summoned that monster chooses the Main Monster Zone it will be placed in when it returns to the field. (For example, if a monster that your opponent Normal Summoned is banished by the effect of "Future Visions", your opponent chooses the Main Monster Zone it will be placed in when it returns to the field.)[3]
- Q: After a Normal Summoned monster is banished by the effect of "Future Visions", if "Future Visions" leaves the field, does the banished monster remains banished?
- A: If a monster you Normal Summoned is banished by the effect of "Future Visions" and "Future Visions" leaves the field, the banished monster remains banished. Also, even if you activate a second copy of "Future Visions" before the next Standby Phase, you cannot return to the field the monster that was banished by the first copy of "Future Visions".[4]
- Q: If "Book of Moon" is activated in Chain to the effect of "Future Visions" that banishes the Normal Summoned monster, changing that monster to face-down Defense Position, is that monster still banished when the effect of "Future Visions" resolves?
- A: When resolving the effect of "Future Visions", the targeted monster is banished even if it is in face-down Defense Position. Also, monsters banished by the effect of "Future Visions" are banished face-up. Therefore, the monster that was changed to face-down Defense Position by the effect of "Book of Moon" is banished face-up.[5]
