TCG Rulings

Upper Deck Entertainment Rulings

  • There is no way to have a monster with an ATK above 1000 attack directly using the effect of "Secret Pass to the Treasures". When you target a monster with "Secret Pass to the Treasures", and the monster’s ATK is increased above 1000 afterwards, the monster cannot attack your opponent’s Life Points directly.[Notes 1]

Mentions in Other Rulings

OCG Rulings

  • This card targets 1 monster on the player's field with 1000 or less ATK.[11]
  • If the only monsters on the player's field have 1001 or more ATK, this card cannot be activated.[11]
  • When the targeted monster declares an attack, the effect is applied so that it can attack the opponent directly.[11]

Notes

  1. a b This ruling is possibly invalid. In recent Yu-Gi-Oh! video games, if an ATK-increasing effect is used after "Secret Pass to the Treasures", the affected monster can still attack directly. However, there has not yet been an official OCG ruling on this issue.
