Q&A Rulings
- Q: When my opponent activates the effect of "Topologic Bomber Dragon" that destroys all monsters in the Main Monster Zones, I activate "Shield Handler" and target that "Topologic Bomber Dragon" and my "Excode Talker". If my opponent chains "Compulsory Evacuation Device" and returns "Excode Talker" to the Extra Deck, how does "Shield Handler" resolve?
- A: If the Link Monster that was targeted on your field is no longer on the field when "Shield Handler" resolves, the part of the effect that negates the opponent's monster's effects is applied normally, but it is impossible to apply the part of the effect that equips "Shield Handler" to your monster. In that case, "Shield Handler" is sent to the GY after the Chain resolves.[1][2]
