OCG Rulings
- The effect which inflicts damage will activate when a monster is Special Summoned during the Damage Step.[1]
- The effect which negates an attack is a Trigger Effect which activates (and starts a Chain).[1]
- Sending this card, "Trap Reactor・Y FI", and "Spell Reactor・RE" to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect which Special Summons "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE". This effect does not target the "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE".[1]
- By sending itself, "Trap Reactor・Y FI", and "Spell Reactor・RE" to the Graveyard, "Summon Reactor・SK" can Special Summon a "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" from the Graveyard, even if the "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" was not properly Special Summoned first (for example, "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" was sent from the Deck or hand to the Graveyard, etc).[2]
- If a monster is Summoned by another card effect, the effect of "Summon Reactor・SK" activates after the Chain resolves. If "Magical Dimension" destroys "Summon Reactor・SK", then "Summon Reactor・SK" is not on the field when its effect would activate, so it does not activate.[3]
- When you activate "Fake Explosion" in response to a direct attack, after damage calculation you can activate the effect of "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" in Chain to the effect of "Fake Explosion" which Special Summons "Summon Reactor・SK".[4]
- The effect of "Fake Explosion" which Special Summons "Summon Reactor・SK" starts a Chain.[5]
- If you have no "Summon Reactor・SK" in your hand or Graveyard, then you can activate "Fake Explosion". However, after damage calculation", the effect to Special Summon "Summon Reactor・SK" is not applied, and your opponent can verify your hand to confirm that you have no "Summon Reactor・SK".[6]
TCG Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Konami before the introduction of Problem-Solving Card Text. Since the introduction of the new text structure, individual card rulings for the TCG are no longer issued or actively maintained.[8] They have never been formally overturned as a whole and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules and do not contradict card text. |
- The effect that inflicts damage can activate even during the Damage Step.[7]
- If “Magical Dimension” Summons a monster and destroys “Summon Reactor ・SK”, then 800 damage is not inflicted to the opponent. But if “Magical Dimension” destroys a different monster instead, then “Summon Reactor ・SK” will inflict the 800 damage.[7]
- If your “Summon Reactor ・SK” is Summoned at the same time as an opponent’s monster (example: “Dimension Fusion”), then it will not inflict 800 damage to the opponent at that time.[7]
- The effect that negates attacks activates when the attack is declared, and targets the attacking monster.[7]
- If the effect of “Summon Reactor ・SK” that inflicts 800 damage is negated by “By Order of the Emperor”, you cannot later use its effect to negate an attack that turn.[7]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Fake Explosion: If you do not have “Summon Reactor ・SK” in your hand or Graveyard, you can still activate “Fake Explosion” to prevent monsters from being destroyed by battle. However, if you are unable to Special Summon “Summon Reactor ・SK” because you do not have it in your hand or Graveyard, your opponent can check your hand to confirm.
- Fake Explosion: You can only Special Summon “Summon Reactor ・SK” if damage calculation occurs. If there is a replay, or a battle involving “Neo-Spacian Gran Mole” [sic], or another situation in which the opponent’s monster attacked but there was no damage calculation, you cannot Special Summon “Summon Reactor ・SK”.
- Flying Fortress SKY FIRE: "Summon Reactor ・SK" can Special Summon “Flying Fortress SKY FIRE” from the Graveyard even if it had not been Special Summoned properly before, and even if it was sent directly to the Graveyard from the hand or Deck.

Rules posted online will be limited to super-complicated and really weird situations. Imagine going down to a dozen pages of card rules, instead of a thousand. It could happen.
