TCG Rulings
- You can Special Summon the same monster you sent to the Graveyard for this card's cost with its effect.[1]
- Monster Tokens cannot be Tributed to pay the activation cost for “Symbols of Duty”.[1]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Evocator Chevalier: If you Special Summoned “Evocator Chevalier” with “Symbols of Duty” and then send “Symbols of Duty” to the Graveyard as a cost, “Evocator Chevalier” will still destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
OCG Rulings
- If "Evocator Chevalier" is Special Summoned by an Equip Spell Card like "Symbols of Duty", then you can send "Symbols of Duty" to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Evocator Chevalier", and the opponent's monster will still be destroyed even though "Evocator Chevalier" will also be destroyed.[2]
