- This card's effect to place a Venom Counter on each face-up monster starts a Chain.
- This card's effect to destroy a monster whose ATK is reduced to 0 does not start a Chain.
- If a monster's original ATK is 0, or its ATK has been reduced to 0 by another card effect(s) and a Venom Counter is placed on it, it will not be destroyed by “Venom Swamp”.
Japanese Rulings
- This card's first effect does not target.
- This card's last effect only activates if the ATK becomes 0 due to the effect of this card.
- If monsters have an original ATK of 0, and Venom Counters are put on them, they are NOT destroyed since their ATK does not becomes 0 due to this card's effect. This also applys to monster with "?" ATK whos ATK is currently 0.
- When this card is not on the field and a monster already has Venom Counters on it and its ATK will become 0 if this card is activated. After this card is activate, that monster will be destroyed, since its ATK becomes 0 by the effect of Venom Swamp.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes: This card’s effect “This card is unaffected by "Venom Swamp".” means that counters will not be placed on it by “Venom Swamp”. Additionally, it will not lose ATK for Venom Counters placed on it by other cards if “Venom Swamp” is in play.
