Card Tips:A Rival Appears!
- This card works well in Special Summoning Level 4 Monsters, since these are the most predominant.
- "Rare Metal Dragon" works great.
- Use "Mystic Box" to give your opponent one of your monsters, then Special Summon another of your monsters with an equal Level from your hand; this works particularly well when the monster in your hand is stronger or if you have another high level Monster in your hand that you can tribute it for.
- If you combo "A Rival Appears!" with "Shien's Spy", it acts as a double Summon. Plus, you get the monster used for "Shien's Spy" back during the End Phase.
- For example if you Summon "Andro Sphinx" or "Sphinx Teleia" you may Summon the other and regain your first at the end phase
- Special Summon "Lava Golem" then activate this card to Special Summon another Level 8 monster from your hand.
- A good one might be "Super Conductor Tyranno", because it is stronger than "Lava Golem".
- To be able to summon a certain monster you could give your opponent a monster of the same level first. Some possibilities are already described above. Other ways would be i.e. "Creature Swap", "Ojama Trio" or "Revival Gift".
- You can use this card to summon monsters in faceup defense position. i.e. "Royal Magic Library" or "Banisher of the Light". This way you can benfit from their high defense and effect.
- Use this card to summon monsters to the field that need a companion on the field like i.e. "Boot-Up Soldier - Dread Dynamo" that needs a gadget or like union monsters. For Synchro summons or XYZ summons you also need at least two monsters on the field.
- Use this card to summon a monster to the field at the time its effect can activate like i.e. "Spirit of the Breeze" in attack mode during your standby phase or a "Mirage Dragon" after entering your battle phase.
- Use this card to summon monsters that cannot be normal summoned like the above mentioned "Rare Metal Dragon" or like "Mystic Swordsman LV4".
