  • You can use this card's first effect by returning "Swords of Revealing Light", then replay it right after. If you continue this turn after turn, this creates a continuous attack lock for your opponent, making them unable to attack you unless they get rid of either "Cosmic Fortress Gol'gar" or "Swords of Revealing Light". (You can also use "Nightmare's Steelcage", in this case you would still be allowed to attack because you can return it before (and replay it after) your battle-phase)
  • This card works great in conjunction with ""A" Cell Incubator", regenerating the A-Counter used for its second effect instantly. You can either simply remove a counter from the Incubator to get a free destruction, or remove a counter from a monster you're going to destroy with the effect to gain one for use if the Incubator is destroyed later.
  • Since you can place the A-Counters from this card's effect on cards on your side of the field, you can use this to infinite refresh the A-Counters on a monster you took control of with "Brainwashing Beam" or "Alien Hypno".
  • You can play all Continuous, Equip, Field Spell and Trap Cards in your hand and use its effect to return them all to your hand once per turn, distributing A-Counters for no cost.
  • Use Chain Energy with this card, to make your opponent pay 500 lifepoints for every card they play from their hand while you return it to your hand on your turn so you don't have to pay anything. Also use Spell Absorption with this card to be capable of gaining large amounts of lifepoints every turn.
  • Use this card with Chain Burst and Curse of Darkness to limit the number of spell and trap cards your opponent can/will play and deal damage to them for the ones they do play. You can also use Royal Oppression to stop your opponent from special summoning on their turn, but keep in mind it will prevent you from special summing on your opponent's turn as well. Similarly, you can use Toll to make your opponent pay to attack, while you didn't have to.
  • Gol'gar combos extremely well with Big Bang Shot. By equipping it to one of your opponent's monsters and then returning it to your hand, you can place 1 A-Counter on any monster you need to and remove the equipped monster from play. Since Big Bang Shot doesn't destroy that monster, this is a great way to work around your opponent's Stardust Dragon. If this nets you a clear shot, you can then equip Big Bang Shot to your own monster to increase the damage you deal, or if not, simply hold on to it for next turn.
  • Using Metalmorph with this card would let you play it offensively on your turn and defensively on all your opponent's turns (because of the 300 point boost). Kunai with Chain can work in a similar fashion.
