• To summon this card in a "Reactor" Deck:
  • Get out a "Cyber Dragon" (Special Summon through its effect) or "Summon Reactor・SK" (through "Fake Explosion") and Normal Summon an appropriate Tuner.
  • Use "Machina Armored Unit" when "Trap Reactor・Y FI" are destroyed to summon "Darksea Rescue", then use "Black Salvo" to revive "Trap Reactor・Y FI".
  • Use "Black Salvo" to Special Summon "Trap Reactor・Y FI" then Special Summon "Turbo Booster".
  • Special Summon "Unknown Synchron" with its effect, then Normal Summon "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast".
    • Alternately you can use "Machina Fortress" instead of "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast". This has the added bonus of being able to discard "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" to fulfill "Machina Fortress"'s Special Summon requirement.
    • You can also use "Slot Machine" and "Ancient Rules" to provide a Level 7 Machine.
  • Use "One for One", discarding "Trap Reactor・Y FI" to Special Summon "Darksea Rescue". Then summon "Black Salvo" and revive "Trap Reactor・Y FI".
  • When "Iron Call" comes out, this card's summoning will be even easier. All you'd need is "Black Salvo" and "Iron Call" in hand with "Trap Reactor・Y FI" and "Darksea Rescue" in the graveyard to summon this for a total of 1 card out of your hand (since "Darksea Rescue" replaces itself). Once you activate "Dark Flattop's" effect it'll result in a +1 in terms of card advantage.
    • "Junk Synchron" and "Iron Call" will achieve the same result in the above situation.
  • Use "Instant Fusion" to summon "Cyber Saurus" then summon any lvl three dark tuner.
  • You can Summon "Junk Synchron" to Special Summon "Darksea Rescue" from the Graveyard and use "Chaos Infinity" to Special Summon a "Meklord Army" monster (preferrably "Meklord Army of Wisel", as it can be later reused with "Black Salvo") from the Deck or Graveyard instead of using "Iron Call".
    • Because "Chaos Infinity" can Special Summon from the Deck OR Graveyard, you can use "Dark Grepher's" effect to send both "Meklord Army of Wisel" and "Darksea Rescue" to the Graveyard in preparation for the summon of "Junk Synchron" next turn. "Reinforcement of the Army" and "Tuning" can help in setting up this play.
  • Summon "Black Salvo" and use its effect to summon any Level 4 "Reactor" monster from the Graveyard, then use "Transmodify" on the "Reactor" to summon "Summon Reactor・SK" from the Deck.

• If you cannot summon "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" or already have one out, summon "Summon Reactor・SK" to stop any potential attacks, especially against decks using "Honest", "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow", "Gem-Merchant", etc.

• If you're trying to get all 3 "Reactor" monsters out, focus on getting "Spell Reactor・RE", since it can't be summoned with "Fake Explosion" or "Black Salvo".

• This card can easily be protected from battle destruction by "Heart of Clear Water" and "Mist Body".

• While this card is on the field, activate "Foolish Burial" to send a "Reactor" Monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, and then use the effect of "Dark Flattop" to bring it back.

• Because "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" is so difficult to summon and its summoning conditions allow it to be special summoned from the graveyard, a Reactor deck wouldn't normally have more than one copy of that card. But with this monster making it so much easier to summon and revive, it is a bit more sensible to have multiple copies. Having 2 or more on the field would make it virtually impossible for the opponent to make a move without getting burned.

• If the "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" you revived with this card remains on the field for one turn, you can use it as a Tribute for "Advance Draw" and then immediately Special Summon it again. This will also give you the chance to reuse the destruction effect of "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE" while at the same time refilling your hand with cards to discard for the effect of "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE".
  • You can also use "Dark Flattop" as the tribute for "Advance Draw" and then use a card like "The Dark Creator" to revive it and gain another Reactor or SKY FIRE with its effect.

• You can use Debris Dragon to ss Dark Flattop from the grave.

Game only tip

• Because this monsters Dark Synchro version can revive any level 8 Machine Type monster from the Graveyard, use "Declaration of Rebirth". This will let you use "Dark Flattop's" effect to bring back any level 8 monster such as "Hundred Eyes Dragon" and "Stardust Dragon".
