Card Tips:Des Volstgalph
- This card can be searched by "Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres", "Hieratic Dragon King of Atum", "Bystial Magnamhut", "Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders", "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms", "Starliege Seyfert", "Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation", "Dragonic Guard", "Draconnection", "BOXer", "Frontline Observer", "Rescue Ferret", and other generic searchers.
- "Totem Dragon" can be rather useful towards the summoning of this card for it's ability to comeback during your stand by phase.
- Using "Dragon's Bind" with this card can seriously put your opponent on a tough spot. You can also make a stronger lock by using "Anti-Magic Arrows" whose sole activation gives it 200 ATK points, Then prevents your opponent from activating Spell and Trap Cards.
- You can use a combination of "Dragon's Rage" and "Ballista of Rampart Smashing" to inflict more damage when attacking defense position monsters.
- This card plays exceptionally well on a Dragon Deck that uses "Solidarity" as this card will have a whooping 3000 ATK upon touching the field, Making this card a sizeable beatstick with the added effect of 500 damage per monster destroyed by battle.
- Cards like "Wicked-Breaking Flamberge - Baou" not only grants this card 500 ATK points on top of the 200 ATK by effect, but allows you to get over effect monsters without issue.
- This card plays well with "Tyrant Burst Dragon" since it will grant it 400 ATK points. On top of which it will allow your Des Volstgalph to attack three times inflicting 1500 Damage by effect alone if the attack is on monsters. If you don't have a Tyrant Burst Dragon, You can use "Tyrant Wing" for almost the same result.
- Taking advantage of cards like "Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword" further increases damage dealt, aside from making this card deadly enough to deliver a possible OTK
- Use this card with "Swords of Revealing Light" to have all of your opponent monsters flipped face-up and cards "Stop Defense" and/or "Enemy Controller" to have, ideally, the lowest attack monster switched from defense position to Attack Position. Then use "Double Attack", which let you attack twice your opponent weakest monsters with this card's ATK up to 3000, plus up to 1000 Direct Damage due to this card's effect.
- You can also use cards like "Swords of Concealing Light" if your opponents monsters attack is too high.
- "Des Volstgalph" can counter attack easily if you activate 1 or more quick spell cards like "Shrink" or "Mystical Space Typhoon" to increase it's ATK points.
- Use in a Spell Counter deck since most cards that relate to Spell Counters gain counters when Spell Cards are activated.
- You can use Normal and Quick-Play Spell Cards, such as "Blustering Winds", "Back-Up Rider", "Tsukumo Slash" or "Rush Recklessly" that increase this card's ATK for an additional 200 ATK on top of the usual boost.
