- Can be used to take down a face-up defense-position Labyrinth Wall with ease, since Labyrinth Wall has 0 ATK.
- Since it does not target face-down monsters, if your opponent has all face-down monsters and one strong monster face-up and on the attack, using 'Fissure' will target the only face-up monster and destroy it.
- Will also do well if your opponent has only one monster on the field. This is a really good way to take down a Blue Eyes White Dragon or equally strong monster, especially if your opponent sacrificed the last of their monsters to get it out there, or had to use Dark Hole, then Monster Reborn.
