  • Since "Guard Penalty" can only replace itself, it merely serves as Deck filler, making the player get through their Deck quicker. Chaining it to cards like "Mystical Space Typhoon" can result in the opponent losing a card at no loss to the player. However "Jar of Greed" is much less situational and can be used to the same effect.
  • This card's main use is not to use it on a monster that WILL change it's position, but should be used on an opponet's monster that MAY change position but that you would rather have in attack. You play it on a monster your opponet controlls that has yet to change position and your opponet sees this card and thinks you are doing it to draw a card so doesnt change the position of his/her monster so that they may keep card advantage. During your turn you may take advantage of the fact your opponet's monster is in attack position, i.e. summon a card with more attack.
  • A cheap tatic to use this card is to randomly select one of your own monsters, switch it to defense position, and there you've got another card in your hand.
  • You can use this card with "Karakuri" monsters
