- This card can be searched via "Witch of the Black Forest".
- Attack with this monster and in the Main Phase 2, Tribute it to activate "Deck Devastation Virus" or "Mystik Wok".
- You can bring this card back from the graveyard with "Recurring Nightmare".
- You can summon this without Tributes while "Skill Drain" is on the field, so it won't be destroyed and you won't lose any life points.
- Use this card while "Prime Material Dragon" is on the field. Prime Material Dragon's effect would increase your life points instead.
- Use this card with "Dimensionhole" to not only prevent its effect from happening that turn but to be able to use it the again next turn.
- You can use "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" to negate the effect that destroys "Mist Archfiend".
- You can combine "Ectoplasmer" with "Mist Archfiend" to avoid the effect damage and inflict 1200 points of damage to your opponent.
- Use "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" to remove from play this card and reset the summon.
- Summon without a tribute and play "Pandemonium", when it is destroyed, you can search for a level 4 or lower "Archfiend".
- It's recommandable to destroy it with "Destruct Potion", giving you a Life Points boost of 2400 instead of losing 1000 points. Because of "Pandemonium" you are still allowed to search your deck for another "Archfiend".
- Using this card with "Dark Resonator" can give you a quick "Hundred-Eyes Dragon".
- Combine with "Spell of Pain" to escape the damage and inflict a quick and easy 1000 damage to your opponent.
- Use "Double Summon" to immediately Tribute this monster, and summon "Great Maju Garzett" with 4800 ATK in one turn.
- If you use this card's effect, you can Xyz Summon "Protector of the Founders, Tyrus" (or any other Rank 5 Xyz Monster) with this card to avoid its negative effect.
- Use this card with Fusion Guard in a deck already using Phantom of Chaos and Recurring Nightmare. Mist Archfiend can be used with Fusion Guard and Recurring Nightmare, and the Fusion monster sent to the Graveyard by Fusion Guard can be used with Phantom of Chaos.
