"Noble Knight Medraut":
  • Summon this card and equip it with either "Noble Arms - Caliburn" or "Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr". Use the effect of that Equip Card (if possible), then if there is no monsters on your field, use this card's effect to Special Summon a "Noble Knight" monster from your Deck. When the equipped "Noble Arms" card is destroyed by this card's effect, re-equip it to this card or the Special Summoned monster, and use the effect of the "Noble Arms" card again (if possible).

Specific Special Summoning Tips

  • "Ignoble Knight of Black Laundsallyn": After that monster is Special Summoned, the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys can be re-equipped to itself (if possible), if one wishes to use both monsters for a Rank 5 Xyz Summon.
    • Alternatively, the effect of "Black Laundsallyn" can be used to Tribute itself to retrieve a "Noble Arms" card from the Deck, in order for "Medraut" to protect itself with that "Noble Arms" card until its Special Summon effect can be used again.
  • "Noble Knight Artorigus": After that monster is Special Summoned, if "Medraut" destroys the only "Noble Arms" card equipped to itself (with that Equip Card being optionally re-equipped, but only to "Artorigus"), both monsters can be subsequently used for a Rank 4 Xyz Summon. If "Artorigus" ends up being detached, this will set-up for the effect of "Lady of the Lake".
  • "Noble Knight Borz": After that monster is Special Summoned, the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys should be re-equipped to "Borz" if possible, so that it can use its effect to retrieve another "Noble Arms" card (which can be equipped to "Medraut" if isn't equipped with a "Noble Arms" card already). With this, both monsters can be subsequently used for a Rank 5 Xyz Summon.
    • "Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus" is an ideal monster to Xyz Summon at this time, since the Graveyard is already supplied with "Noble Arms" cards sent there by the effect of "Borz".
    • Alternatively, if "Noble Knight Gawayn" is in the hand and "Medraut" is still a Normal Monster after the effect of "Borz" was used, "Gawayn" can be Special Summoned by its own effect in order for it and "Medraut" to be used to Xyz Summon "Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights", taking advantage of the "Noble Arms" cards in the Graveyard sent by the effect of "Borz".
  • "Noble Knight Drystan": After that monster is Special Summoned, the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys can be re-equipped to "Drystan" (if possible), so that its effect can be triggered to destroy a face-up card on the field.
    • It is important to note that if the opponent controls no face-up cards, this card's controller will be forced to destroy one of their own.
    • Afterwards, the first effect of "Drystan" can serve to protect "Medraut". If "Drystan" happens to leave the field or be flipped face-down, its "Noble Arms" Equip Cards can be re-equipped to "Medraut" for some lingering protection. However, reliance on this strategy will prevent "Medraut" from being able to activate its effect in the meantime.
    • If "Medraut" is equipped with no other "Noble Arms" cards, both monsters can be subsequently used for a Rank 4 Xyz Summon.
  • "Noble Knight Gwalchavad": After that monster is Special Summoned, the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys can be re-equipped to "Gwalchavad" (if possible), so that its effect can be used to retrieve a fallen "Noble Knight" monster.
    • It is important to note that if the effect of "Gwalchavad" is subsequently used during the same turn, the re-equipped "Noble Arms" card will not be able to re-equip itself a second time (unless a different "Noble Arms" card is destroyed instead).
    • Alternatively, if "Noble Knight Gawayn" is in the hand, it can be Special Summoned via its own effect (before the effect of "Gwalchavad" is used, and assuming "Medraut" is now treated as a Normal Monster), so that it and "Medraut" can be used for a Rank 4 Xyz Summon. Ideally, the Xyz Monster should be able to detach "Gawayn" as an Xyz Material immediately afterwards, so that the effect of "Gwalchavad" can be used to retrieve it for another Special Summon from the hand (assuming "Gwalchavad" is now treated as a Normal Monster as well) for another Rank 4 Xyz Summon.
  • "Noble Knight Eachtar": "Eachtar" is ideal to Special Summon if there are sufficient "Noble Arms" cards in the Graveyard. In that case, after that monster is Special Summoned, the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys should be re-equipped to itself if possible, so that both monsters can be used to Xyz Summon the Rank 5 "Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus". This is because this card's effect prevents the opponent from negating that monster's Summon or Chaining to that monster's equipping effect.
    • "Eachtar" is also ideal to Special Summon with this card's effect when the Graveyard has plenty of "Noble Knight" monsters to be banished for its own Special Summon effect.
  • "Noble Knight Bedwyr": If there are less than 3 "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Cards in the Graveyard, "Bedwyr" can be Special Summoned (and the "Noble Arms" card that "Medraut" destroys should be optionally re-equipped to "Bedwyr", or not at all) so that its effect can be used to add an additional "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card to the Graveyard, before both monsters are used to Xyz Summon a Rank 4 Xyz Monster, which would ideally be "Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights".
    • It is important to note that this combo only works if "Medraut" isn't equipped with any other "Noble Arms" cards, which would make it Level 5. However, this can be remedied by using the second effect of "Bedwyr" to re-equip the remaining "Noble Arms" card to itself.
  • "Noble Knight Brothers": "Brothers" is ideal to Special Summon for the benefits of its last effect, if one is running low on "Noble Knight"/"Noble Arms" cards for combos. Afterwards, both monsters can be used for a Rank 4 Xyz Summon (if "Medraut" was equipped with only 1 "Noble Arms" card that was subsequently destroyed), or "Brothers" can remain on the field with its high DEF for protection.

Generic Special Summoning Tips

  • If "Ignoble Knight of Black Laundsallyn" is in the hand or Graveyard, the effect of "Medraut" can be used to Special Summon "Noble Knight Artorigus" or a "Noble Knight" monster that is treated as a Normal Monster, in order for that monster to be used for the Special Summon of "Black Laundsallyn".
    • Alternatively, if "Medraut" is only equipped with 1 "Noble Arms" card, its effect can destroy that card so that it can be used for the Special Summon of "Black Laundsallyn" instead.
  • If one desires a specific "Noble Knight" monster to be in the hand (such as "Noble Knight Brothers" for its Special Summon effect), and "Genex Ally Birdman" is also in the hand, the effect of "Medraut" can be used to Special Summon the appropriate monster from the Deck, before the effect of "Birdman" is used to return that monster or "Medraut" to the hand. Depending on the circumstances, a Level 7 or 8 Synchro Monster can be subsequently Synchro Summoned.
