* This card is considered useful in an [[Ojamas|Ojama]] Deck.
* An easy way to Synchro Summon this card would be to use [[Deep Sea Diva]] and then use it's ability to bring out a level 3 monster like [[Mermaid Archer]] or [[Spined Gillman]].
* If you summon [[Marauding Captain]] and activate it's effect to special summon any level 2 Tuner Monster, you can Synchro Summon this card easily.
* Combo [[Golden Flying Fish]] and [[Deepsea Macrotrema]] with this card. Use Golden Flying Fish to tribute Macrotrema, destroying a card. Gishilnodon will pump to 3000 since Macrotrema went to the grave, and then Macrotrema makes it pump to 3500 plus all your other face-up water type monster gain 500 as well.
