- "Symbols of Duty" works well in any deck that consists of larger amount of Normal Monsters, such as earlier "Elemental HERO" Decks.
- This card can be used in a Gemini Deck on Gemini monsters that haven't been Gemini Summoned, which allows you to revive monsters other than Gemini. A nice tactic is to destroy a powerful monster your opponent controls and then give up a Gemini (or Normal) monster to revive it through the effect of "Symbols of Duty". This is a good way to prevent certain cards your opponent often revives from being used again.
- An interesting combo would be "Equip Shot" and a card like "Mystical Space Typhoon". You can resurrect a monster, send this equip to a stronger monster, then chain "Mystical Space Typhoon" to destroy it. Not only does this move free your own monster from the card's drawback, but it turns that drawback into a weapon
- This can be used in a deck featuring "King of the Skull Servants": First, Summon out "Skull Servant" and then activate this to Special Summon "King of the Skull Servants" while also sending one "Skull Servant" to the Graveyard.
Traditional Format
- If you are running 3 copies of this card, you can use it with "Card of Safe Return". You can even Special Summon the monster you sent to the Graveyard to draw 1 card.
