Card Tips:The Calculator

  • This card is best combined with strategies / card effects that can easily Summon a high-Level monster, ideally multiple.
    • "Artifact", "Danger!", "Darklord", "Eldlich", "Galaxy", "Hieratic", "Horus", "Mekk-Knight", "Nemleria", "Subterror", "Thunder Dragon", and "Yubel" Decks focus on Special Summoning their high-Level monsters.
      • "Malefic" Decks also have high-Level monsters, but their effects will prevent "The Calculator" from attacking; cards such as "Axe of Fools" and "Malefic Territory" would be needed to allow "The Calculator" to attack.
    • "Alpha, the Master of Beasts" is a Level 8 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand, if the total ATK of the opponent's monsters on their field is higher than the player's total ATK of monsters on their own field.
    • "Astral Kuriboh" is a Level 1 monster that can freely Special Summon itself from the hand as a monster of any Level from 1-13, by revealing an appropriate "Number" monster in the Extra Deck.
    • "Beast King Barbaros", "Coach Captain Bearman", "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast", and "Labyrinth Heavy Tank" are high-Level monsters (Levels 8, 8, 7, and 7, respectively) that can be Normal Summoned without Tributing any monsters, albeit at the price of having lower ATK/DEF (with the exception of "Heavy Tank").
    • "Deskbot" Decks can possibly use this card, as they have high-Level monsters that can be easily 'cloned' via "Machine Duplication" or "Inferno Reckless Summon".
    • "Dinowrestler Pankratops" is a Level 7 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand if the opponent controls more monsters than the player does.
    • "Divine Serpent Geh" is a Level 12 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand in response to the destruction of one of the player's monsters, albeit at the cost of half their LP.
    • "Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord" is a Level 10 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand by shuffling all monsters in its controller's Graveyard into the Deck.
      • With no monsters in the Graveyard, this can also allow "Mirror Ladybug" to Special Summon itself from the hand and become at least Level 10; however, "Ladybug" will self-destruct if it becomes Level 13 or higher.
      • If "Tragoedia" becomes Level 4 or lower (usually by its own effect), it can form a powerful combo with "Megalith Promotion", allowing it to become Level 20 (which is double the original Level of "Tragoedia").
    • "Fusion Armament" is a Normal Spell that can Special Summon a listed Fusion Material from the Extra Deck or Graveyard, which can be a monster of any Level, except Levels 9 and 11 currently. However, the Summoned monster cannot attack and its effects are negated, until the end of the opponent's next turn after activation.
    • "Gizmek Orochi, the Serpentron Sky Slasher" is a Level 8 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand or Graveyard by banishing the top 8 cards of its possessor's Deck face-down.
    • "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" is a Level 7 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand in response to the player taking damage (while they control no cards), but also Special Summons a Level 7 Token if battle damage was taken.
    • "Greed Quasar" is a Level 7 monster that increase its own Level by the total Levels of the monsters it destroys by battle (increasing its own ATK in the process).
    • "Guardian Slime" and "Tragoedia" are Level 10 monsters that can Special Summon themselves from the hand in response to the player taking battle damage.
    • "Icejade Kosmochlor" is a Level 10 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand if there is a face-up Field Spell on the field.
    • "Lord of the Heavenly Prison" is a Level 10 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand when a Set Spell/Trap is activated.
    • High-Level Trap Monsters can easily Special Summon themselves, such as "Abyss Stungray", "Metal Reflect Slime" (which can be used to Special Summon "Egyptian God Slime" instead), "Shaddoll Core", and "Statue of Anguish Pattern".
    • "Sauge de Fleur" is a Level 8 monster that can Special Summon itself from the hand by destroying a monster its user controls, along with another card on the field.
    • "Smoke Mosquito" can mimic the Level of another high-Level monster that its controller controls.
    • "Battle Waltz" is a Normal Spell that Special Summons a "Waltz Token" with the same Level as one of the player's Synchro Monsters - which are usually high-Level.
  • This card can work well in "Fire King" Decks, as "Fire King High Avatar Garunix" is a Level 8 monster that can easily destroy all other monsters on the field with its effect. This results in a situation where "The Calculator" would have high ATK and can attack the opponent directly.
  • This card can possibly be used in "Mecha Phantom Beast" Decks, since their monsters can attain high Levels relatively quickly. However, it can be difficult to keep those monsters on the field (due to their dependence on Normal Summons) while getting the opportunity to also Summon this monster.
  • This card can possibly be used in "Flower Cardian" Decks, since their strategy is focused on Summoning multiples of their high-Level monsters for Synchro Summons. However it's also important to consider that "Flower Cardian" Decks are very reliant on drawing their "Flower Cardian" monsters with their card effects, in order for their effects to be successful, which this card's presence in the Deck can interfere with.
  • This card's effect can assist the effect of "Junk Warrior", by substantially boosting that monster's ATK when Synchro Summoned (gaining ATK equal to the ATK of "The Calculator", which will have at least 2100 ATK).
  • This card can work with "The Creator", as it can Special Summon high-Level monsters or "The Calculator" from the GY, while being a Level 8 monster itself.
  • With the potential for this card to have high ATK, it can work well with "Infected Mail".

Traditional FormatEdit

  • This card can be very powerful when used in a "Dragon Ruler" Deck.
