- XYZ-Dragon Cannon is made up of two searchable components, Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank. Sangan can search them to your hand, but Shining Angel can get them directly to the field.
- XYZ monsters remove themselves from play a lot. Dimension Fusion and/or Return from the Different Dimension can help you summon back those monsters for swarm, or to summon 2 of the same Fusion monster.
- You can ease XYZ-Dragon Cannon's discard cost with Ojamagic or Night Assailant.
- Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank are both Union monsters. That means you can use Roll Out! and Frontline Base to swarm quickly.
- Before Special Summoning this card, you have the option of using Limiter Removal to boost the ATK of its materials. By Special Summoning this card during your Main Phase 2 you avoid the cost of them being Destroyed.
