  • This card's Japanese name (also used in the manga) is a reference to the Greek monster, the Minotaur, which is also a humanoid bull monster.
  • This card's name may be a pun on the phrase "battle-axe", especially as it is holding an axe.
  • The ilustration in the image´s artwork resembles the first appearance of "Battle Ox" when went out to attack the "Ankoku no Doragon" ("Blackland Fire Dragon") of "Yugi Muto" in the first duel between him and Seto Kaiba in the manga.
