- This card's Japanese name is a reference to the Greek monster, the minotaur, which is also a humanoid bull monster.
- In Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories, when "Battle Ox" is summoned, it instantly discards all Pyro-type monster from the opponent's hand.
- For some reason, in games such as Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses, the 3-D model of this monster had its midsection recolored black.
- This card can be seen in the Tablet of Lost Memories as one of Priest Seto's monsters.
