- The explosion in this card's artwork is similar to those featured on the "Reactor" monsters. Both this card and the "Reactors" are used by Greiger in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime and are depicted as partly-humanoid machines resembling aircrafts. "Trap Reactor・Y FI" is even used in tandem with "Black Salvo", another one of Greiger's cards, to make this card, further establishing the link between this card and the "Reactor" archetype.
- This card's effect is an advanced version of the effect of "Cannon Soldier".
- This card was the first Synchro Monster to become Forbidden. It was followed by "Goyo Guardian", "Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" and "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier".
- This is the fifth card to go from being Unlimited to Forbidden instantly. The previous four were "Time Seal", "Victory Dragon", "Chaos Sorcerer", and "Cyber-Stein". It was later followed by "Substitoad", "Mass Driver", "Fishborg Blaster", "Glow-Up Bulb", and "Spore".
- This card bears a resemblance to "Flying Fortress SKY FIRE".
- This card is one of only a handful of cards that has a superior effect in its OCG/TCG incarnation than in its anime incarnation, with the reverse meant to be the case.
