- This card can be searched by "Archfiend Palabyrinth", "Archfiend Heiress", "Pandemonium", "Skilled Red Magician", "Sky Scourge Cidhels", "Lucent, Netherlord of Dark World", "Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy", "Chaos Zone", "Imperial Princess Quinquery", "Rescue Ferret", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- Attack with this monster, then Tribute it to activate "Deck Devastation Virus", "Grinning Grave Virus" or "Mystik Wok".
- Use "Creature Swap" to give control of this card to the opponent while taking one of their monsters. "Mist Archfiend" will still destroy itself during the End Phase and inflict 1000 damage to its controller, which is now your opponent.
- "Skill Drain" and "Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror" can be used to negate this card's self-destruction effect and the effects of many other monsters while still allowing "Mist Archfiend" to be Normal Summoned without Tributes.
- "Recurring Nightmare" can return 1 or 2 copies of this card to your hand.
- "Masked Chameleon" can Special Summon it from the Graveyard to summon a Level 9 Synchro Monster.
- You can combine "Ectoplasmer" with "Mist Archfiend" to avoid the effect damage and inflict 1200 points of damage to your opponent.
- Use "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" or "World Legacy Clash" to temporarily banish this card and reset its summon when it returns.
- Summon "Mist Archfiend" without a tribute and activate "Pandemonium". Once it destroys itself, you can search for a level 4 or lower "Archfiend" monster.
- Use "Double Summon" to immediately Tribute this monster, and summon "Great Maju Garzett" with 4800 ATK in one turn.
- If you use this card's effect, you can Xyz Summon "Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon" (or any other Rank 5 Xyz Monster) with this card to avoid its negative effect.
