  • Despite its Forbidden status, "Pot of Greed" has continued to receive homage through cards such as "Shard of Greed" and "Moray of Greed", as well as through six direct counterparts, which imitate its effect in more balanced manners, or with more contextual purposes:
  • This is one of the four Forbidden cards that has its effect featured in "Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan".
  • Following the reprint of this card in Duelist Pack: Kaiba, "Pot of Greed" now has the shortest lore in the game, with only 13 characters.
  • According to the Master Guide whoever tries to take their hand out of the "Pot of Greed" will cause the pot to explode.
  • This card has the opposite effect of "The Gift of Greed".
