  • This card's second effect is similar to "Prime Material Dragon's" second effect, but this card's effect has no discard cost and no Monster destroying card requirement.
  • This card's third effect is similar to "Cyber Valley's" first effect, but this card's effect can negate any attack, not just the attack directed at itself.
  • As with "Stardust Dragon" and "Red Dragon Archfiend", this card and "Red Nova Dragon" share a "rivalrous" relationship.
    • This card's first effect mirrors "Red Nova Dragon", as this card involves Tuners in the Deck (the future) while "Red Nova Dragon" involves Tuners in the Graveyard (the past).
    • "Shooting Star Dragon" was given to Yusei in "Clear Mind" while "Red Nova Dragon" was given to Jack Atlas when he proved than he has a "Burning Soul", both "Clear Mind" and "Burning Soul" were mentioned in the song "Clear Mind".
  • This card's ability to attack multiple times could be a reference to meteor showers, since the comets in the showers are "shooting stars".
