  • The runes around the rim of the Seal are Enochian and spell out "Oreichalcos" twice.
    • In the Japanese anime, the text on all "Orichalcos" cards are also written entirely in Enochian runes, except for "Orichalcos Sword of Sealing".
  • Before its confirmed release, this card was among other cards that are rumored to be kept from the everyday person. "Power Balance" is rumored to be one, as is a copy of "The Winged Dragon of Ra" with the Hieratic text in place of the flavor text.[citation needed]
  • This is the only Field Spell Card and non-Monster card that can only be activated once per Duel.
  • This was the first card to prevent the user from Special Summoning from their Extra Deck as a means of balancing its power.
  • The third effect of this card is identical to that of "Pixie Ring". Konami themselves have pointed out this fact.[1]
  • This is the first anime-original card to be released in the TCG before the OCG.
  • Just as the Orichalcos’ double-chevron pattern has 6 points to its design, "The Seal of Orichalcos" has 6 sentences of text.
  • This card's first effect, the 500 ATK boost, is the only one it shares with its anime counterpart. Its second effect, not being destroyed once per turn, is a reduced version of its anime counterpart's effect to not be destroyed at all. Its third effect, limiting your opponent's choices for attacking your monsters, is a twist on its anime counterpart's effect to prevent the opponent from attacking monsters placed in the Spell & Trap Card Zone by its other effect.
    • Its other effects, which are all downsides or limitations, were likely added to make the card more realistic as it had none in the anime.
    • Not being allowed to summon monsters from the Extra Deck and destroying Special Summoned monsters is possibly based on what happened when this card was played by Yami Yugi, destroying "Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight" and reverting it to its unfused state.
