This monster's name is based on Conium maculatum, a highly poison floeering plant that is commonly know as "hemlock" or the "spotted corobane", which appears as the symbols on the corners of this card's artwork.
This monster's Japanese name (キャロベイン, Kyarobein) is a portmanteau of the words "corobane" (ころばね, Korobane) and "carol" (キャロル, Kyaroru), where the latter reflects this monster's Christmas-themed appearance.
Fittingly, this card was announced in December 2017 as the promotional card for the February 2018 edition of V Jump.
