- In Norse mythology, Týr is the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory. His right hand was bitten away by Fenrir, which is why this monster's right hand is covered. He is killed by Garmr, the watchdog of Hell.
- This card shares its name with "Tyr, the Vanquishing Warlord".
