Cathy Katherine (Duel Generation)

Cathy Katherine is a Duelist Construct of Cathy Katherine from the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL series in the Virtual Dueling System. She is also the opponent that the player faced in Stage 16-2 of the ZEXAL Campaign mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation. The player has to defeat her in a Duel in order to unlock the next stage and progress Campaign mode.

AppearanceEdit

As a Duelist Construct, her appearance is based on Cathy Katherine, and the outfit is one of the couple of clothing that Cathy causally wore and used when she is not wearing her Heartland Academy uniform in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime series. In this character's image, the white cat tail that can be seen is actually a accessories attached at the end of her black dress. Besides the outfit, Cathy is also wearing a Duel Gazer over her left eye, and this device allows her to see and watch the augmented reality setting of a Duel.

EtymologyEdit

Her given name "Cathy" is a pet name for Catherine, and this is fitting as her surname is "Katherine" which is one of the many alternate spelling variations. "Katherine" is a name whose meaning is uncertain due to the various theories behind its naming origin, but despite that shortcoming, the name most likely comes from Catherine of Alexandria, a Christian saint.

In the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime series, Cathy Katherine might have been named after the pet cat as her entire character involved around the theme of cat in a terms of appearance, personality, voice, and mannerism.

RewardsEdit

There are a total of six rewards that the player can earn and received after defeating the Duel Construct in a Duel. The first two rewards are cards that come from the Duel Construct's Deck and the third reward is a recipe for their Deck. Then the fourth, fifth and sixth rewards repeated the same process of the three earlier rewards, but in a harder difficulty with a different Deck. In addition, the sixth reward will allow the player to have the Duel Construct's avatar and the ability to Duel them anytime between the two difficulty.
