Cyberse (サイバース Saibāsu) is a Type of monster. This Type is used by Yusaku Fujiki, Varis, Bohman, BitBoot, Theodore Hamilton, Earth, Windy, Lightning, Harlan, Skye Zaizen, Ai, and Pandor in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. Appearance-wise, they resemble creatures and humanoids strongly connected to elements of digital technology and cyberspace. At times though, they tend to resemble either Insect, Machine or Psychic monsters (the humanoids bearing design elements from the TRON franchise). The name is a portmanteau of "Cyber" (サイバー Saibā) and "Universe" (ユニバース Yunibāsu).

Their general theme revolves around swarming the field with weak monsters to easily Link Summon powerful Link Monsters, and they also have lots of monsters that gain effects when banished in a similar vein to Psychic monsters. Cyberse archetypes and series include "Code Talker", "Firewall", "@Ignister", "Marincess", "Mathmech", "Topologic", and "Salamangreat". Few non-Cyberse archetypes and series that include at least 1 Cyberse monster, such as "World Chalice", "Mekk-Knight", "Crusadia", "Knightmare", "Gadget" and "Paladins of Dragons".

In the anime

In Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, the Cyberse monsters are a special kind of monster related to the Cyberse, created by the Ignis. When Playmaker used these monsters in his Duel against the Knights of Hanoi, the spectators were surprised to see him possess Cyberse monsters. As stated by Varis, through unknown means the Knights of Hanoi had destroyed a vast number of them to the point they believed Cyberse monsters to be extinct.
