* [[Rescue Rabbit]] - The main card of the deck, used to banish itself and special summon two level 4 Dinosaur-Type Normal Monsters from your Deck to instantly get an "Evolzar" Xyz Monster. Due to the September 2013 TCG list limiting this card, it will be more difficult to get your evolzar monsters out due to this card's inconsistency.
+
"Dino Rabbit" uses the eponymous "Rescue Rabbit" to fetch either "Sabersaurus" or the newer addition "[[Megalosmasher X]]". They can both be used to run into things, but this will rarely be the case, since you normally overlap them into an Xyz monster. The prime candidate for this is "Evolzar Laggia", who basically gives you one "[[Solemn Judgment]]". "Evolzar Dolkka" is less varied, but a helpful counter against certain matchups. Other options include "[[Gagaga Cowboy]]" for the final slither of health or "[[Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer]]", which can deal with certain monsters that could otherwise not be handled by the deck.

* [[Sabersaurus]] - The main [[Dinosaur]] of the Deck to be summoned by Rescue Rabbit for an Xyz Monster. Can also be used as a beatstick when needed.
+
The new boss monster in form of "[[Ultimate Conductor Tyranno]]" is easily one of the best things that happened to this deck over the last few years. Firstly, it is amazingly easy to summon, with only two monsters needed in the GY to summon this 3500 ATK beatstick. And it doesn't stop there: With the effect to flip the entire monster lineup of your opponent face-down, reactionary Link, Synchro or Fusion Summons are stopped immediately while turning any effects off that the monsters have. "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" can also attack all monster of the opponent and can even decide to can rid of them in face-down position via its effect and deal a flat 1000 damage for every monster that has died that way. Plus, it doesn't destroy, it sends to the GY, meaning that any effect that triggers upon being destroyed is null and void.

* [[Gold Sarcophagus]] - Can search out important cards in the deck such as "[[Rescue Rabbit]]", "[[Tour Guide from the Underworld]]", "[[Crane Crane]]", or "[[Dark Hole]]". Recently it has shown less use because the card is a bit slow for the current meta, also this card is limited due to the September 2013 list.
+
In addition to all of this, "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" can even be used for further setup. Its effect needs you to destroy a monster on the field or, and this is very important, in hand. This means that any "[[Petiteranodon]]" or "[[Babycerasaurus]]" will search for Dinosaurs and summon them, is can be used to put "[[Miscellaneousaurus]]" into the GY if you want to go further down the monster spam route, or simply ditch a "[[Giant Rex]]" into the GY to remove it later on. Speaking of "Giant Rex": If you used it for the summon of "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno", you will obviously end up with two monsters doing the same summoning procedure.

* [[Dimensional Fissure]] - Like "[[Macro Cosmos]]", this card shuts down alot of graveyard reliant decks. However, like "Macro Cosmos", this card is also limited in the September 2013 list.
+
The most useful card to start with if "Rescue Rabbit" isn't an option is "[[Souleating Oviraptor]]. "Oviraptor" is your main searcher, searches regardless of Summoning method and can even opt to ditch the searched card directly into the GY for further plays. Its second effect allows for further setup and by destroying monsters like "Petiteranodon" or "Babycerasaurus", you get to summon twice.

* [[Pot of Dichotomy]] - Can be used as an alternative for [[Pot of Avarice]] (since Pot of Avarice is banned as of the September 2013 TCG lists). However, it requires 3 monsters with different types in your graveyard.
+
When "[[Double Evolution Pill]]" was annouced, it seemed like it was made with this specific deck in mind. With the usage of "[[Summoner Monk]]" or simply using a "Rescue Rabbit" this way instead of its own effect, powerful options like the aforementioned "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" as well as the new "[[Overtex Qoatlus]]" can be summoned. "Qoatlus" shares the idea of destroying both cards on field and hand for its effect, which gets more mileage out of the cards that were used for the cost, and brings a handy Spell/Trap negation. Additionally, "Qoatlus" searches another "Evolution Pill" when it hits the GY due to a card effect, effectively allowing for a resummon with one more non-Dinosaur monster by using said "Double Evolution Pill" and the "Qoatlus" in GY. And again, "Giant Rex" will hit the field when used for the cost of "Double Evolution Pill", giving you two monsters for using it.

* [[Dimensional Prison]] - Serves a similar purpose as [[Bottomless Trap Hole]], except it can banish cards that can dodge destructive effects such as [[Stardust Dragon]] and [[Wind-Up Zenmaines]], or cards that need to be sent to the graveyard to work, such as [[Sangan]] or [[Mermail Abysslinde]].
+
On the Spell/Trap front, "Dino Rabbit" is not that bad either. "[[Gold Sarcophagus]]", whilst slow in nowadays format, gives you instant access to a "Giant Rex" from the deck. "[[Fossil Dig]]" is one of the best search cards in the game and can search for anything but "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno" and "Overtex Qoatlus". Mass-removal options like "[[Dark Hole]]", "[[Interrupted Kaiju Slumber]]" or "[[Torrential Tribute]]" not only help to keep your opponent in check, but also fill your GY for further plays as well as triggering the little dinos effects of summoning stuff back. "[[Lost World]]", the dinosaur Field Spell, gives protection the your dinosaurs, lowers the stats of the opponents monsters to make fighting your dinos an even harder challenge and allows you to setup off your Normal monster dinosaurs.

* [[Macro Cosmos]] - This card can single handily shut down graveyard-reliant decks such as Chaos Dragons, Mermails, Inzektors and Dark Worlds, with some damage done to Wind-Ups and Hero Beat. Since most Dino-Rabbit decks do not relying on Graveyard-related cards, it's a perfect tech choice. However, due to the September 2013 TCG list limiting this card, this card is now harder to draw into.
+
Both "[[Dimensional Fissure]]" and "[[Macro Cosmos]]" can be played in "Dino Rabbit", since it doesn't cripple yourself nearly as hard as it will many opponents.

Although this deck is very powerful and controlling, it is not without its drawbacks. With the announcement of Fast-Effects Timing rule many traps can stop [[Rescue Rabbit]]'s effect. [[Compulsory Evacuation Device]] can stop [[Rescue Rabbit]] the moment it's summoned.

Although this deck is very powerful and controlling, it is not without its drawbacks:

+
* Stopping "[[Rescue Rabbit]]" or its effect will result in a harder time for the "Dino Rabbit" player getting to starting plays like "Evolzar Laggia". "[[Skill Drain]]", "[[Effect Veiler]]" or similar effects can stop "Rescue Rabbit" efficiently.
[[Effect Veiler]] can now stop first turn Evolzar plays since it can activate in response to [[Rescue Rabbit]]'s Normal Summon. Even though Rabbit can still [[Banish]] itself for its [[Cost]], the effect negation of Veiler will still follow Rabbit and no monsters will be brought out from the deck.
+
* Summon negation is as helpful against "Dino Rabbit" as it is against many other decks. "[[Solemn Warning]]", "[[Solemn Judgment]]" or similar cards can stop the oppressive from taking shape.

+
* Both "[[Gozen Match]]" and "[[There Can Be Only One]]" are options against "Dino Rabbit", since the first will halt summoning due to the varied Attributes of the Dinosaurs, while the second can halt the deck in certain situations and doesn't even trigger the destruction triggers of the Dinosaurs, since it sends to the GY.
[[Snowman Eater]] can be used to destroy [[Evolzar Laggia]] without any loss in advantage, and it can also destroy any non-Xyz monsters that Dino Rabbit decks may utilize.
+
* "Dino Rabbit" uses a lot of effects that Special Summon monsters; therefore, "[[Vanity's Fiend]]", "[[Vanity's Emptiness]]" or "[[Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo]]" are effective counters against the strategy.

[[Chain Disappearance]] can be used to banish [[Tour Guide From the Underworld]] or [[Rescue Rabbit]] (although this can be easily mitigated by [[Leviair the Sea Dragon]]).

Since the Evolzars have a maximum ATK of 2400, any Decks that can throw large number of recurring-beatsticks with ATK of 2500 or more can also be threatening for this Deck. Popularity-wise, [[Chaos Dragon]] is the most prominent, but [[Malefic]] decks are harder to handle, due to [[Malefic Cyber End Dragon]]'s 4000 ATK which even [[Forbidden Lance]] is incapable of handling. [[Skill Drain]] also becomes absolutely disastrous in this matchup, due to the fact that it can render any Evolzar effects useless, in addition to several other monsters that a Dino Rabbit deck will typically use, such as [[Spirit Reaper]] and [[Tour Guide From the Underworld]].

Due to this deck's heavy-Trap elements, [[Royal Decree]] makes an excellent silver bullet against this deck. [[Rivalry of Warlords]] also ensures that no Evolzars can be Xyz Summoned at all.

"Ultimate Conductor Tyranno": Rarely did a boss monster look so much like bad news.

"Dino Rabbit", also known in the past as "Evolzar Rabbit" or "Guide Rabbit", focuses on using "Rescue Rabbit" to summon level 4 Dinosaur-Type normal monsters such as "Sabersaurus" and "Megalosmasher X" from your deck to Xyz Summon "Evolzar Laggia" and "Evolzar Dolkka" to negate spells, traps, monster summons and monster effects, respectively. Nowadays, the name-giving "Tour Guide From the Underworld" doesn't really find space in the deck anymore, since Dinosaurs have an array of options they rather like to play with.

The "Dino Rabbit" strategy remained mostly the same over the course of the years, but after its revival the deck celebrates its comeback more with a bang than a whimper.

History

The "Dino Rabbit" deck came into existence during times when Xyz summons were still new and was powerful due to its easy access to strong field control and reasonably powerful monsters. "Rescue Rabbit" and "Tour Guide From the Underworld" were both used to summon Rank 3 or 4 Xyz monsters respectively; the Rank 4 monster are already listed above, Rank 3 monsters included "Leviair the Sea Dragon" to recycle banished Rabbits, "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon" for a beatstick and "Wind-Up Zenmaines" for a destructive wall. Aside from those cards, "Dino Rabbit" played a number of cards to disrupt the opponent's plays when necessary.

Due to the September 2013 TCG list, this deck was hit hard by limiting Rescue Rabbit and a few support cards, making this deck nearly unplayable in the TCG. It was still normally playable in the OCG though.

In April 2017, the Dinosmasher's Fury Structure Deck was released, bringing many new, interesting and powerful cards for Dinosaurs, increasing the potential of this deck by a lot. The unlimiting of "Rescue Rabbit" in the October 2017 banlist caused this deck to be playable again, but the new Link Summon mechanic still caused doubts of how viable it might be. As of the time of writing, "Dino Rabbit" doesn't really exist on a competitive level anymore, but it is a solid Stun/Beatdown deck.

Playing style

"Dino Rabbit" uses the eponymous "Rescue Rabbit" to fetch either "Sabersaurus" or the newer addition "Megalosmasher X".
