Chupataro is a small green-skinned semi-quadrupedal alien with replitian and mammalian features. He has a yellow underbelly and red spots on his back and upper arms, and clawed hands and feet with five claws on each limb. He wears a hood that doubles as a mask where he has massive red eyes with no irises or pupils and short, small flat nostrils, and interlocking teeth without lips, and despite his largely reptilian appearance, has what appears to be spiky black hair and spines of the same color on his back.

When Chupataro is in human guise, he removes his hood to reveal a human head with pink eyes and brown hair that curls outward and has orange-brown bangs. He pilots a mechanical body the height of a human boy, with a light pink sweatshirt, a pale yellow undershirt, baby-blue three-quarter pants with a black Deck box strapped around the left thigh, and large red and white shoes.

Personality

Chupataro shows no hesitation in lying or going to great lengths to conceal his true goals. He is introduced as obsessed with the Monster Card "Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan", hoping that by collecting all her cards he can meet the real monster, to the point of attacking innocent people who either emulate or show any sign of love for her. Due to this obsession, he is initially blindsided to Yuamu Ohdo dressing up as "Meeeg-chan" before noticing the errors in her costume. Chupataro even voices a desire to be "punished" be "Meeeg-chan" after seeing her attack monsters.

Chupataro later demonstrates his more manipulative side, taking advantage of Yudias Velgear's naivety regarding Earth to lure him into traps in the Mutsuba Heavy Machinery Garbage Collection Site #8. He demonstrates petty ruthlessness when he threatens Valvelgear, which contained 8.88 million Velgearians, and was easily threatened into trying to drop it into a furnace by Yuhi Ohdo calling him "hairless".

When he believes himself to be in control, Chupataro is confident and arrogant, but as soon as he finds himself out of his depth he is reduced to panicked protesting and sobbing.

Voice/Mannerisms

Chupataro speaks in third person, and often says "chupa" or "cabra" at the end of his sentences.

Etymology

Chupataro is named after the chupacabra. "-taro" is a common suffix used in Japanese male names.

Biography

History

Chupataro claims to have been born and raised on Earth, despite being an alien, to the point he has a Gold Earth Permit.[2] However, he later claims to Yudias Velgear that he isn't from Earth.[4]

First Arc

Zuwijo zir Velgear ordered Chupataro to make contact with Yudias Velgear. Chupataro began attacking people who had "Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan" cards and stealing them, even targeting people who had drawn the monster or said similar phrases to her flavor text. One of his victims was Mr. Yagi, a worker at UTS where Yudias was now working; Chupataro stole the yakitori skewers Yagi had been working on and fled into the night. He later found "Magicial Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan" in a park and leapt for her joyfully, but "Meeeg-chan" blinded him with a flashlight and scared him back into his robot body, revealing herself to be Yuamu Ohdo, UTS' president. After Yuhi Ohdo and Yudias arrived, Chupataro was incensed by Yuamu's claim her costume was perfect, pointing out the inaccuracies before Manabu Sogetsu of MIK arrived to arrest Chupataro for his crimes. Yuamu instead suggested a Rush Duel and Chupataro agreed. When he Summoned "Magicial Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan", Chupataro expressed his adoration for the monster and his desire to meet the real "Meeeg-chan", pushing Yuamu into a corner with "Meet and Greed". However, Yuamu Summoned "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" on her next turn and empowered her monsters with "Dragonic Gacharge", defeating Chupataro. After the Duel Yuhi asked Chupataro about the Earthdamar; Chupataro claimed to have never heard of it and agreed to stop attacking people before being taken away by Manabu and Nyandestar. Chupataro refused to cooperate with the MIK interrogation, eventually showing Manabu and Nyandestar his Gold Earth Permit to secure his release. Afterwards he called Zuwijo to inform him of his success in contacting Yudias.[2]

Chupataro found Yudias shopping with Yuamu one Saturday, luring him to the Mutsuba Heavy Machinery Garbage Collection Site #8 with a claim to teach him about Trap Cards, claiming he and Yudias had a lot in common as they weren't from Earth. He used the equipment of the Garbage Collection Site to trap Yudias and explain Trap Cards that fitted the situation from him, though Yudias escaped his first two traps with ease despite not suspecting Chupataro. Eventually Chupataro caught Yudias in a clamp that he was unable to break out of, and Chupataro took him to the blast furnace to interrogate him. They found Yuhi in the factory with Valvelgear, Yudias' mothership, and Chupataro snatched the miniature ship and held it over the furnace, threatening the lives of the 8.88 million Velgearians aboard without care and impressing his deception on Yudias. Yuhi insulted Chupataro and dared him to drop the ship; before Chupataro could it and his hand caught fire, revealing the ship to be a paper copy. Incensed at being fooled, Chupataro attacked Yuhi, but was captured by MIK agents called by Yuamu, who had tracked Chupataro by his yakitori skewers, and Chupataro was taken away for trespassing, informed by Nyandestar that his Earth Permit would be revoked.[4] Despite his initial panic, Chupatato again refused to cooperate with MIK, though Manabu attempted to offer his Earth Permit back if he talked. To Chupataro's shock Manabu began singing a song from the perspective of Chupataro's parents being disappointed in him, the notion stirring a tear in his eye, though he continued to remain quiet.[5]

Another of Zuwijo's servants, Mitsuko Hiramori, allowed herself to be arrested by MIK and broke Chupataro out of prison.[6] Once he was free, Chupataro's Duel Disk was exposed to the Earthdamar, which Zuwijo had recovered while Chupataro was imprisoned, and he was sent to the Mutsuba Cable Studio to Rush Duel.[7] Chupataro disguised himself as a sushi delivery boy, delivering sushi to Manya Atachi at Mutsuba Cable Studio where London Kirishima was to pick it up. Chupataro attacked him and bound him before smashing through the wall of the studio with the sushi and declaring his intention to Rush Duel as the Duelist of the final match being held, dropping a figure of "Meeeg-chan" as he threatened the audience. Yudias took notice of Chupataro's weird behavior and accepted the Duel to find out why. Chupataro was disappointed not to draw "Meeeg-chan" on his first turn, so he risked depleting his LP to draw her as soon as he could with "Ewekai - Grudges from the Grave", his Duel Disk beginning to glow with the Earthdamar. When Chupataro finally Summoned "Meeeg-chan", he removed his hood to reveal his eyes were glowing the same color as his Duel Disk, declaring his love of "Meeeg-chan" and attempting to hug her, but failed to touch the Solid Vision and collapsed. The Earthdamar emerged from his Duel Disk and merged with "Meeeg-chan", bringing her to life and causing his body to look drained. The weakened Chupataro was knocked out accidentally by Meeeg-chan, who continued the Duel against Yudias After Yudias defeated and dispelled Meeeg-chan, MIK took Chupataro's Deck and put him in a stretcher to take them both back to the MIK Headquarters.[6] Chupataro managed to tell Manabu and Nyandestar that Zuwijo had tricked him before falling comatose.[8]

Deck

Chupataro uses an Ewekai Deck, spearheaded by his ace monster, "Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan", which he back-ups with its themed Spell Cards to destroy all of the opponent's monsters at once.

Under the pretense of teaching Yudias Velgear about Trap Cards, Chupataro carries a number of them with him to use as examples:
