"Earthbound Immortal", known as "Earthbound God" (地縛神 Jibakushin)in Japan, known as "Earthbound God" is an archetype used by the Dark Signers in the OCGYu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and Japanese anime, is an archetype composed of 7 Level 10 10 DARK monsters. All of them have the common with various effectType of being able to attack the opponent directly, and cannot be selected as an attack targets. (In the anime, It is a player can attack the opponent directly if they're the only monster they control, which Yusei stated during his first Duel with Roman in episode 046. The anime also gives them immunity to Spell and Trap cards.) They were used by the Dark Signerarchetypes in of the anime. Because all but one of them have high original ATK, they are often able to easily crush opponents. However, this power comes with two drawbacks:  * Any given player can only "controlEarthbound 1 "Earthbound Immortal" at a time.* An "Earthbound Immortal" will immediately destroyarchetype itself when no Field Spell Card is in play"Earthbound Immortals" also have a small but very potent series of support cards that allow them to further oppress They are among the opponent. Their artworks all feature them emerging from a hole largest monsters seen in the ground from which blue flames are emerginganime; dwarfing humans and being comparable to massive buildings in size. ==BackstoryDesign==The "Earthbound Immortals " are incarnations of evil entities that were sealed in based on the Nazca Lines by the Dragon Star and its servants 5000 years before the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.  Each of these "Evil Gods" them are shaped in the form of a pictured rising from their corresponding Nazca Line and each member of the Dark Signers wear striped robes bearing the color of their corresponding "Earthbound Immortals".  Their colors come from Wiphala, Banner of form matches the Inca Empirebeing they represent, with only white missing from the range of currently known colorsas well as their Type. In addition, each color of the The "Earthbound Immortals" is also each have a color of the rainbow.  The "Earthbound Immortals" serve as to When they are Summoned in the antithesis to the Crimson Dragon anime (and the Signer Dragons. As after some video games), a millennium of confinement, these monstrous beings were released after beating stone heart appears in the Ener-D accident occurredsky, separating New Domino City into 2 halves and creating absorbing souls in the district which vicinity if this is now known as the Satellite.  It was first time the "Earthbound Immortal" has been Summoned, followed by a mistake with terrible repercussions. The power generatorflash of light revealing their full form, which was supposed to spin clockwise to generate an infinite positive power supply instead spun counter clockwise, creating infinite negative energy and resulting in emerges from the occurrence of ground. When the "Zero Reverse Effect" which ultimately opened a hole to the underworldDark Signer is defeated, allowing the souls their "Earthbound ImmortalsImmortal" to escapetook for their Summon are returned. ==History==Further information on this controversial topic was later revealed that Roman Goodwin, who, upon learning of In the 5anime,000 year battle between the Crimson Dragon and the "Evil GodsEarthbound Immortals" are evil incarnations that were sealed away, was taken over in the netherworld by their dark, controlling powers.  In order to resurrect himself as the future leader of the Crimson Dragon and the Dark Signers, he killed himself by overloading 5000 years before the Ener-D Reactor, thus causing the horrible incident. In events of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's - Episode 109, it is revealed that this event was actually manipulated and controlled by the Three Pure Nobles.  It has been revealed that each corresponding "Earthbound Immortal" stands for a codename relating to the original Ener-D Reactor.  While Earthbound Immortal Uru stands for the codename referring to the Ener-D Reactor itself, the other 4 Gods' names each stand for a codename for each of the reactor's control units. Chacu Challhua and Wiraqocha Rasca do not have control units. The archetype name "Earthbound Immortal" is based on the corresponding Nazca Lines that each They were imprisoned in. Each "Earthbound Immortal" is featured rising released from the depths of the "Underworld" and each of them are shown with their seals as a different ground texture on their corresponding game card.  They are polar opposites result of the the Signer DragonsZero Reverse, as they fight incident. They serve as the servants ace monsters of the King of the NetherworldDark Signers, which is mentioned by Roman before he dies. This is similar possessing them to how the Signer Dragons fight for the Crimson Dragon. In episode 111, Greiger told Yusei and Jack that the "Earthbound Immortals" "could be used again by another evil." Whether this is really foreshadowing or not remains unknown. All serve as gatekeepers of them have been released in OCG and TCG, except Red NovaOld Ener-D, who exists not in his original form, but which serves as Red Nova Dragonthe entrance to the netherworld

==Effects==The All "Earthbound ImmortalsImmortal" are known to to be nearly unbeatable, since their monsters share the following effect(s ):There can only be 1 "Earthbound Immortal" negatemonster any chance of a counter on the attack by a Duelistfield.  These effects are tied If there is no face-up in the use of any Field Spell and will disappear once on the field, fielddestroy is taken out of playthis card.  This is a major weakness which until Your opponent's monsters cannot episode 050target no one had taken advantage of. (Mainly because most Duels involving the Immortals were this card for Turbo Duelattacks, so the field spell couldn't be . This card can attack directlyed. In the anime, they instead all shared the following effect(s) : While this card is Lunaface-up and on the Leofield are the only ones who have used it against them. By removing the field spell, they were able to destroy Devack's "Earthbound Immortal". The field problem is a major issue in a monsters since it can never cannot be destroyed until the Duel ends.  "Ancient Fairy DragonSummon" ed. If there is one of only 2 of the no face-up Signer Dragons that can also destroy Field Spell Cards by its own effect and it can gain Life PointsCard for it as well. The sacrificed individuals turn into energy of the same purple color as a dark markability to attack directly, which is then absorbed into a floating stone of characteristic shape. A beam of purple light then descends from the geoglyph in the sky, destroys the stone (that resembles a heart) and strikes the ground, causing the "Earthbound Immortal" immunity to rise from the "Netherworld". This has occurred in both Satellite Spell and New Domino City.  Any person trapped within its respective geoglyph Trap Cards is sacrificed in this way and for the moment it is unknown what happens to the sacrificed people. During presented as them being incorporeal; the first Duel between Yusei and RomanFudo, it is revealed that an "Earthbound Immortal" will continue attempted to harvest the souls of anyone not protected by a defend his SignerLP as long as it stays on the field, as shown when Martha was sacrificed to with "Uru" when she fell into the geoglyph even though "Uru" had already been Summoned. There are, however, several conditions under which a person is not absorbed into an "Earthbound Immortal":* That person is Dueling Stardust Dragon (stated by Devack when he dueled Leoanime).* That person is a Stardust Dragon or proximate to a Signer (which Misty explained in episode 39).* The "Earthbound Immortal" does not use nearby human sacrifices, as in the following cases:** from "Cusillu" used the souls of the Duel Monsters spirits.** "Chacu ChallhuaCcapac Apu" used the souls of the people from Greiger's village.  After Greiger's defeat, the people sacrificed for but "Chacu ChallhuaStardust" were returned to life; when Devack lost, flew right through the souls of the Duel Monster spirits were returned back into the Spirit Worldmonster's outstretched hand. The spirits of This is also presented as a weakness—in the villagers were shown anime (in contrast to be suffering inside of the "Chacu Challhua" during the Duel between Greiger and Crow. Apparently these Gods are fueled by whatever reason of anger and revenge their corresponding Dark Signer carries. However, for the same reason, it appears that they disappear the moment that its controller no longer carries on this hatred.  They can interfere by taking possession of the Dark Signers body, as happened to Greiger during his duel with Crow, after he learned that the Dark Signers are actually the ones that were behind his village's destruction. Wanting to continue the duel when Grieger wanted to stop, Greiger's body was taken over by "Chacu ChallhuaTCG/s" spirit. This also happens in the Duel between Jack and Carly and the Duel between Akiza and Misty.  However), if the Dark Signer is strong enougha player only controls an "Earthbound Immortal", they their opponent can maintain contact with other people attack them directly (Greiger breaks the control for a few seconds, Carly connected through such as when "Majestic Stardust Dragon" and Misty used card attacks as means passed through the body of communication). This does not appear to be applicable to Rex Goodwin. Each Dark Signer except Misty had at least one "Earthbound Immortal" support card.  "Chacu Challhua", "Aslla piscu" and "Wiraqocha RascaUru" are the only three Immortals that are not the same Type as the Decks played by their respective Dark Signers. In Episode 112, it is discovered there was a lost "Earthbound Immortal", The Crimson Devil Red Nova. The strongest of all of them, who was defeated prior to the ancient battle by the Crimson Dragon itself in a one-on-one contestattack directly).  Red Nova's servant planned on using Jack Atlas as a sacrifice to resurrect his sleeping master. Interestingly, it stated that the battle between Red Nova and the Crimson Dragon occurred 10,000 years ago.
Playing style
The "Earthbound Immortal" based monsters are very powerful and have effects that range from inflicting Effect Damage to your opponent while locking their Battle Phase ("Chacu Challhuas focus on "), to taking control of an opposing monster, as in the case of "Uruing ". Also, all of them can attack their opponent directly and cannot be targeted for attacks. As powerful as they are, they have some drawbacks: there cannot be more than 1 of the many different "Earthbound Immortal" monsterson the field at the same time, and quickly finishing a Duel.  The main weakness of this Deck they are all destroyed if there is keeping a Field Spell in playactive. This can be overcome with cards like "Field Barrier", If "Hardened Armed Dragon" and is Tributed to Tribute Summon an "Magic ReflectorEarthbound Immortal" monster, it prevents it from being destroyed by card effects (or including its own). Alternately, "Magical Citadel of EndymionEarthbound Linewalker" or can be used to protect "Earthbound Immortal" monsters. "The Seal March of Orichalcosthe Monarchs" even on will also stop them being destroyed by their own).  Since effects, as will the effect of "Earthbound Immortals" are all DARKNumber 66: Master Key Beetle monsters". In an emergency situation, they can easily be "Tribute SummonSkill Drained with " can also prevent them from destroying themselves. Their strategy basically relies on attacking directly and dealing huge damage every turn; if they are protected by cards like "Double CostonSafe Zone", or "Fires Mound of Doomsdaythe Bound Creator" and , there are few ways of stopping them. "Mausoleum The Seal of the EmperorOrichalcos"also works well in this Deck, as it can protect itself while boosting your monsters' ATK by 500.  Their high "ATKTerraforming ", and the ability to even "attack directlyAncient Fairy Dragon, while not being able to be " if used carefully or alongside "selectField Barriered as an attack target, makes them powerful attackers, but they are still vulnerable to "/"Magic CylinderThe Seal of Orichalcos" and , can assist in making sure you always have Field Spell(s). "Draining ShieldAncient Pixie Dragon". An attack lock-down can also be made using their effectsincluded to increase draw power as this deck relies on Field SpellsAn The "Earthbound Immortal" monsters can all be used in almost any Deck that relies Summoned easily, due to having no restrictions on a Field Spell CardSpecial Summoning them (except the field-unique condition). ===Aslla Piscu DeckRecommended cards==={{Decklist|Recommended cards

Uru Deck
OTK:
1.Activate Mausoleum of the Emperor.

2.Pay 2000 Life Points (or tribute 2 monsters) to summon Earthbound Immortal Uru.

3.Activate Mage Power targeting Earthbound Immortal Uru.

4.Flip Whirlwind Weasel and activate Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce targeting Earthbound Immortal Uru.

5.Attack directly twice. ((3000+1000*)+(3000+1000*))=8000*

This * means that the value can be bigger.

You must have Mausoleum of the Emperor on the field even if you tribute 2 monsters to summon Uru; or at least 1 more Spell or Trap face-down to use this OTK.

Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce takes off 500 ATK points. If you have Mage Power and Twin Swords of Flashing Light - Tryce on Uru and no other Spells or Traps, Uru will have 3000 + 1000 - 500 attack, or 3500, which is not enough for an OTK even if you attack twice.

Cards that Special Summon powerful monsters on your opponent's side of the field are useful when used with "Earthbound Immortal Uru".

You can tribute weak monsters on your side of the field to control powerful monsters, such as "Lava Golem" or "Volcanic Queen", both of which inflict detrimental effects to your opponent during their turn.

Uru also works reasonably well with Swarm Decks; swarming weak monsters can be sacrificed to summon Uru and then again to control your opponent's monsters.

===Weaknesses=== "Earthbound Immortals" are very strongBecause they depend on Field Spell Cards being on the field, but cards like "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Black Rose Dragon" and even "Mystical Space Typhoon" could destroy an active Field Spell necessary to keep one around and take the Earthbound Immortal with it. You can use cards like , "Field BarrierTwin Twisters" , etc. can cause "Earthbound Immortal" monsters to protect your Field Spell from being destroyeddestroy themselves. Be careful though, cards Cards like "Murmur of the ForestField Barrier," or "Giant Trunade," and "Stardust Dragon" can simply remove be used to protect a Field Spell Card from being destroyed.Cards that cause the Field Spell Card to leave the field without destroying it, effectively not only bypassing "Field Barrier," but also disallowing you to play another Field Spell until "Field Barrier" itself is removed somehow. "The Seal of Orichalcos" also works well in this Deck, as one of it's effects helps prevent destruction, as well (such as boosts your monsters by 500 ATK. If you don't want to have this worry at all, you can use either "Hardened Armed Shaddoll Dragon" as a Tribute so that your "Earthbound Immortal" cannot be destroyed by card effects (including its own) or Summon an and "Earthbound Linewalker" for Castel, the same protection. In an emergency situation, "Skill DrainSkyblaster Musketeer" might also help to protect them. Also the Majestic Dragons ) are also still a major threat to the Earthbound Immortals because they even with "Field Barrier". This can negate the Immortals effects and (depending on the Dragon) can either use them or gain their attack pointscause additional problems, giving the two dragons as "Field Barrier" prevents a superb advantagenew Field Spell Card being played while it is active. ==TriviaSee also== * All Earthbound Immortals have been released in Ultra Rare/Ultimate Rare.* Card Rulings:Earthbound Immortals are similar to "Malefic" monsters, in that they both require a Field Spell card to remain on the Field, and you can only control 1 at a time.**Also, both are used by major antagonists that Yusei eventually faces with the help of his friends.* The Earthbound Immortals each represent one of the 7 colors of the rainbow like the Crystal BeastImmortals.* The Earthbound Immortals are the first giant sized monsters introduced in the 5d's series. Archetype navboxEarth
