A card effect is any effect in the game introduced by a specific card, excluding the conditions and costs of that card. Card effects include the effects of Monster Cards

Trivia
- In the Japanese anime, card effects are often called "special abilities" (tokushū nōryoku). In the manga, they are referred to as both "effects" and "special abilities"; they are also very rarely referred to as "powers".
