- This card can be searched by "Sky Scourge Cidhels", "Lucent, Netherlord of Dark World", "Chaos Zone", "Rescue Ferret", and other generic searchers.
- Combo "Mefist the Infernal General" with "Robbin' Goblin", that way your opponent will discard 2 cards from his/her hand.
- Combo "Mefist the Infernal General" with "Earthquake".
- Be careful when using "Mefist the Infernal General" against decks that rely heavily on having cards in the Graveyard.
- "Soul Release" can help with that.
- Copy this card with "Hundred Eyes Dragon" to get a 3000 ATK Piercer that can discard from the opponent's hand.
