'''Otes'''<ref name="ep24">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|24|ref}}</ref> (オーティス ''Ōtisu''), initially known as the '''Hologram Man''' (ホログラムの{{Ruby|男|おとこ}} ''Horoguramu no Otoko''), is a character in the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS]]'' anime and the main antagonist of the [[Team Battle Royal]] and [[King of Duels]] arcs, and the overall central antagonist of the series. He was the creator of Dueling and a designer for [[Goha Enterprises]] who grew dissatisfied with the state of Dueling and sought to return the enjoyment of it back to the children, and he chose [[Yuga Ohdo]] to be the [[King of Games|King of Duels]].

 +
Otes would test Yuga in the form of the Hologram Man, projected from [[The Relic|a Relic]] that became the subject of urban legend. He is later suspected to be behind the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]] and its ulterior motive of uninstalling [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]]. When confronted by this accusation, Otes refuses to confirm or deny any responsibility, but he later reveals he desires to destroy all Dueling, and has been manipulating Yuga through most of the series.

[[File:HologramMan-Full.png|200px|left|thumb|Full-body view of Otes.]]
 +
Otes is a tall pale-skinned man dressed in a white trenchcoat with gold markings and a red interior over a black jumpsuit with a gold belt and gold zipper. He also wears white knee-high boots and gloves, both with gold markings. Otes' face is never seen in the series: it is constantly concealed behind a mask that resembles [[Kite Tenjo]]'s hairstyle, with a teardrop-shaped white point, and a triple-pronged attachment at the front with a red center prong and gold outer prongs. When Otes splits into three copies, they are all tinted with one of three colors; blue, red, and yellow. He also conceals himself in a purple cloak when attending the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]].

===Personality===

+
Otes is theatrical and showy, joining the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]] with the intention of entertainment and dynamically Dueling for the crowd. He believes that the world of Dueling has become too rigid and that a new road needs to be cut open for the Duelists of the future, an ideal he passed down to [[Yuga Ohdo]]. Otes is even willing to defy [[Goha Enterprises]] to convey these ideals, despite being an employee at the time.<ref name="ep13" /><ref name="ep12">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|12|ref}}</ref>

However, while these motivations are true, they have a darker side to them Otes keeps hidden for most of the series. In truth he was driven to despair by the restrictions placed on Dueling and became resolved to destroy the game through the hands of children, believing both it was better for Dueling to be erased and that children as the custodians of games should be the ones to do so. To this end Otes manipulated Yuga Ohdo as a pawn to accelerate his plan and kidnapped Yuga Goha to advance his goals. Otes is incredibly secretive, often refusing to confirm or deny any elements of his plans and having a fondness for telling partial truths.

== Re: COTD Set Card List ==
+
Otes's nature as the Hologram Man is initially unclear; he is projected as a holographic Duelist and is shown to be capable of emoting and responding to live conversation. He is intrigued by Yuga's [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]], believing it to be a dynamic form of Dueling and adapts to the format quickly.<ref name="ep1">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ===Etymology===
 +
"Otes" may be derived from the name "Otis", which is another form of the name "[[wikipedia:Botis|Botis]]" in Goetian mythology, and is described as a president and earl, possibly referencing Otes's own desire to initially become the King of Duels.<!--@Do not add that in English it is "Seto" spelled backwards, as the Japanese characters do not line up with this. Any such claim ''will'' be reverted.-->

===History===
 +
Otes created Dueling before [[Goha Enterprises]] transformed it into [[Master Duel|Goha Dueling]], and he continued to work as a card designer at Goha Enterprises.<ref name="ep91">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|91|ref}}</ref> Otes created "[[Monster Reborn (anime Rush Duel)|Monster Reborn]]", a card capable of altering the memories of people when used in a Duel, with the intention to block painful memories in weak Duelists.<ref name="ep88">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|88|ref}}</ref> As Dueling gradually became more restricted in [[Goha City]] and more complicated rules were enforced around it, Otes was driven to despair. He found a storybook, [[SEVENS (book)|SEVENS]], which told of an old man who manipulated a young sorcerer into gathering six companions, destroying the six elements, and battled the "SEVENS" on the moon, forcing the sorcerer to destroy the moon out of a belief a world in toil could only be saved by destroying it. Otes was inspired by this tale to destroy Dueling himself, and he created the "[[Sevens Road]]" series of cards based on the tales in the book.<ref name="ep91" />

For the criticism. Now that I think about it, those little bits I did were not neccesary. But I will say that I HAVE been trying to include LESS cards in my tips. As for WHY I included that tip about "Red-Eyes Fang with Chain", I was trying to think of a way to counter BBDDS. "First of the Dragons" and "Battle Fusion" are one way for Dragon Decks to do so, and I thought this would be another way to get the upper hand. So I am working on the tips. I'm working on doing better.[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 12:38, April 19, 2017 (UTC)

[[File:The Duelist depicted by the Hologram Man appeared at the Goha Dueling Tournament in Yuga's youth.png|thumb|250px|right|Otes at the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]].]]
 +
Otes was dissatisfied with the current state of Goha Duels but also desired to place their fate in the hands of those they were meant for: children.<ref name="ep91" /> Otes believed that a [[King of Games (title)|King of Duels]] would be able to accomplish this, though as an adult he didn't believe he was capable himself. He entered the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]] despite regulations barring Goha employees from entering, Dueling with "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" and reaching the finals. His employment was discovered and Otes was disqualified, but before he was taken backstage, he saw [[Yuga Ohdo]] in the crowd and gave him "Sevens Road Magician", telling him to walk the road in his heart.<ref name="ep12" />

===Help===
+
Through unknown means, the image and personality of Otes were projected as the Hologram Man from [[The Relic|a Relic]] that was inscribed with a legend of the King of Duels. This Relic took up residence inside [[Hologram Man's chamber|an underground chamber]] in [[Goha City]] and was eventually discovered by both [[Roa Kassidy]] and [[Lucidien Kallister|Lucidien "Luke" Kallister]] a week before the series, both of whom desired to become the King of Duels themselves. Luke Dueled and defeated Otes six times, but each time a timer ran out and he received a penalty, eventually having his account locked.<ref name="ep1" /> Otes also visited the Goha Duel Overseer, [[Nail Saionji]], who recognized Otes and Otes told Nail that Dueling would soon change and that a new King of Duels would appear.<ref name="ep17">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! [[File:HologramMan.png|thumb|left|250px|Otes appears to Yuga and Luke.]]
 +
After learning about [[Yuga Ohdo]]'s [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]] rules, [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] brought Yuga to the [[Hologram Man's chamber]], suggesting that they could be the new path needed to defeat Otes. With only six minutes and sixty-six seconds after a [[Kaizo|Goha Enterprises Drone]] discovered Yuga and his friends, Yuga decided to use Real-Time Duel Programming to install his new rules by Rush Dueling Otes. Otes accepted Yuga's challenge, and he was intrigued by the repeated Summons of Rush Dueling, praising it as dynamic. Otes swiftly [[Tribute Summon]]ed "[[Blue-Eyes White Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Blue-Eyes White Dragon]]" on his first turn, destroyed Yuga's monsters, and reduced him to 1000 [[LP]]. Yuga was able to make a comeback on the next turn due to the rules of Rush Dueling allowing him to draw until he had five cards in his hand, Tribute Summoning "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" and increasing its [[ATK]] to 7000, destroying "Blue-Eyes" and defeating Otes. Following the Duel, Otes' voice congratulated Yuga, telling him that a new road would open.<ref name="ep1" /> Otes reappeared by the door, telling the kids that the one who would become the King of Duels would follow the new road, though the door he had made appear was just a hologram. Before vanishing, Otes told them that though the door had been opened, they would have to find it themselves.<ref name="ep2">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|2|ref}}</ref> Following that Duel, the Relic and Otes vanished without a trace, leaving behind seven symbols that formed the emblem of the [[Big Seven Arena]], where the Relic would appear the next full moon.<ref name="ep13" /><ref name="ep6">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! I know I was kinda late to talk about this, but there is a reason why I said "Side Effects?" would be good in a Virus/Mill Deck. I have a Deck like this, and I have managed to pull this off several times. In the span of 1 to 3 turns, I've been able to activate multiple Viruses, crippling the opponent's hand and field. Here's where the tip I made comes in.
+
[[File:Goha Corp attempt to capture the Relic.png|thumb|right|250px|Otes appears during Yuga's Duel with Roa Kassidy.]]
 +
Otes and the Relic re-emerged on the next full moon at the Big Seven Arena during a Rush Duel between Yuga and [[Roa Kassidy|Roa]], where Otes introduced himself to the assembled crowd and explained his desires. With the aid of the [[Goha 7th Elementary]] [[Newspaper Club]], Otes confirmed that he had been disqualified from the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]] for being a [[Goha Enterprises]] employee and that he had created "Sevens Road Magician", whose legality was currently under question. Otes restored access to the card's data, noting that someone had been trying to obscure it on the internet. Roa, who had also been present at the 666th Goha Dueling Tournament, asked Otes why he had chosen Yuga and not him to be the King of Duels, though Otes never had the chance to answer him as Luke claimed Roa's underhanded tactics made him ineligible for the position. Yuga however believed Roa had a chance to obtain the title and offered to barter it on the Duel, a decision that Otes accepted, warning Yuga that he would be ineligible if he lost here. During the Duel, Yuga Summoned "[[Sevens Road Witch (anime)|Sevens Road Witch]]" and "[[Sevens Road Mage (anime)|Sevens Road Mage]]" in addition to "Sevens Road Magician", monsters that Otes confirmed he was responsible for creating, though he had only given "Sevens Road Magician" to Yuga, who had found the others on his own. Yuga defeated Roa, and as Goha Enterprises unsuccessfully tried to take possession of the Relic, Otes congratulated Yuga and told him he had only taken his first steps on the road to the King of Duels. Yuga himself admitted he hadn't been interested in the title prior, but was now and Otes bid him to look for the key to the door to a new world before vanishing underground.<ref name="ep13" />

I knew the whole time that your ''opponent '' chose the number of cards to draw, so I would use at least one Virus first to get inside their head. See, if they chose to draw only one card, I'd only gain 2000 LP, but they'd be lucky if they drew a card that would turn the Duel in their favor. If they drew two or three, they'd have a higher chance of drawing that lifesaving card, but they'd lose more of their Deck and I would gain a large amount LP.

[[File:Otes splits into three.png|thumb|left|250px|Otes divides into three to test Gavin, Romin and Luke.]]
 +
Otes became aware of [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]]'s defeat at the hands of [[Nail Saionji|Nail]] and his new [[Maximum Summon]]ing. [[Gavin Sogetsu|Gavin]], [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] and [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] all came to Otes' chamber and asked to speak with him, and Otes appeared to them once they had all arrived. He confirmed that he was aware of Maximum Summoning and that they wanted to know how to defeat it and he divided into three copies, explaining that they would all have to [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Duel]] him and win to learn how to defeat Maximum. Otes also warned them that the Goha systems counted him among Yuga's allies, so regardless of the Duels' outcomes, they would all receive three penalties. All three copies of Otes opposed Gavin, Romin and Luke with the same strategy; [[Special Summon]]ing "[[Red-Eyes Black Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Red-Eyes Black Dragon]]" and inflicting severe damage to them with "[[Inferno Fire Blast (anime Rush Duel)|Inferno Fire Blast]]", then retrieving the [[Spell Card]] with "[[Black Dragon's Roar (anime)|Black Dragon's Roar]]" and increasing the [[ATK]] of "Red-Eyes", effectively giving them all one turn each to defeat him. To Otes' joy, all three of his opponents were able to find a way around his strategy and defeat him. Impressed by their resolve, Otes recombined back into a single copy and explained to Gavin, Romin and Luke that the hint they needed to defeat Maximum Summoning was already within them before vanishing.<ref name="ep24"/>

THAT is why I added that Virus/Mill(I'm just gonna call it "Bubonic" at this point) Deck tip. A strategy like that would allow you to toy with your opponent's mind and likely throw them off their game. You'd be more likely to do so if you used cards like "Hand Destruction" and "Disruption Strategy". Having to draw and lose the cards in your hand so many times while the Viruses are still in effect would prove to be unnerving.  And yes, I've pulled this off a few times too. <small>''—This unsigned comment was made by [[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 18:41, April 24, 2017‎ (UTC)''</small>

[[File:Otes Summons Summoned Skull.png|thumb|right|250px|Otes Rush Duels Yuga at Goha Stadium.]]
 +
Otes became aware of the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]], and of [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]]'s unwillingness to participate in the tournament. He decided to visit the tournament grounds at [[Goha Stadium]] in person, despite knowing that his disqualification from the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]] prohibited him from doing so, and passed by Yuga, [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] and [[Gavin Sogetsu|Gavin]] to catch their attention. Yuga was asked to join the [[Heavy Cavalry Duel Club]] to enter the tournament, and when he protested that he only wanted to spectate, Otes revealed himself and challenged Yuga to a [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Duel]]. Yuga accused Otes of trying to manipulate him again, but Otes dismissed the notion as preposterous and claimed he only wanted to inform Yuga of the true nature of the tournament if Yuga could defeat him. Otes opposed Yuga relentlessly with "[[Summoned Skull (anime Rush Duel)|Summoned Skull]]" and its support cards, even countering his combination of "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" and "[[Sevens Road Witch (anime)|Sevens Road Witch]]", a strategy that impressed [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]]. He noted to Yuga that the word of Rush Dueling had become larger since its inception, but asked if this would really be the end of it, and compared Yuga to a bystander who had stopped walking, suggesting that Rush Dueling could eventually become as strict as Goha Dueling was. Yuga was reinvigorated to continue, and he used "[[Sevens Road Warlock (anime)|Sevens Road Warlock]]" to recover "Sevens Road Witch" and "Sevens Road Magician", but Otes returned all the monsters in Yuga's [[Graveyard]] to his Deck to prevent him from using the effect of "Sevens Road Magician". Yuga was instead able to use his own support card, "[[Sevens Twin Burst]]", to increase the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" high enough to surpass that of "Summoned Skull" and defeat Otes, giving Otes hope that Yuga's Road had taken off into the sky and that it would someday reach the stars. After the Duel, Yuga didn't ask Otes what he meant, having decided to join the tournament to learn the answer he was looking for. Otes was then arrested for his rule violations, and he allowed himself to be taken away by Goha Stadium's security, proclaiming that the Road Yuga needed to take would always be in his heart.<ref name="ep43">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]] brought his new friend [[Yuga Goha|Swirls]] with him to [[Hologram Man's chamber|Otes' chamber]], calling out to him and asking why he tried to uninstall Rush Dueling and what his true goal was. Otes appeared from a [[The Relic|new Relic]] and told Yuga he would have to defeat him in a Duel to learn the answer, but Yuga stated that Swirls would Duel Otes instead. Noting Swirls' timid demanor, Otes slyly asked if he wouldn't just run away, but after [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]], [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] and [[Gavin Sogetsu|Gavin]] arrived and encouraged him, Swirls agreed to Duel and borrowed Yuga's Deck, Rush Dueling for the first time. Swirls started with the same hand Yuga had during his first Rush Duel with Otes, and Otes likewise brought out "[[Blue-Eyes White Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Blue-Eyes White Dragon]]" on his first turn and destroyed Swirls' monsters with "[[Burst Breath of Destruction (anime)|Burst Breath of Destruction]]", reducing him to 1000 [[LP]]. On his next turn Swirls again played the same moves as Yuga had, but this time drew and Summoned "[[Sevens Road Wiz (anime)|Sevens Road Wiz]]" rather than "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]", using its effect to reduce the ATK of "Blue-Eyes" to zero. Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces as Swirls attacked, Otes found himself smiling as well. After the Duel Yuga asked Otes to tell him why he'd tried to uninstall Rush Dueling, and Otes asked if Yuga actually had any proof that he was behind it before suggesting it had been a good thing, as it led to Rush Dueling becoming a more robust program, before retreating underground with the Relic.<ref name="ep53">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Otes himself refused to confirm Yuga Goha's claims but accepted his Duel. Deducing Yuga Goha would want to send "[[Dark Magician (anime Rush Duel)|Dark Magician]]" to the [[Graveyard]] and revive it with "Monster Reborn", Otes acted to prevent the move and almost defeated him with "Dark Magician" and "[[Dark Magician Girl (anime Rush Duel)|Dark Magician Girl]]". However Yuga Goha was able to successfully send "Dark Magician" to the Graveyard and revive it, defeating Otes. Otes stopped managing the influx of new formats, furthering the notion his memory had been wiped, but continued to work behind the scenes with the assistance of [[Celestia Noodlina]], [[Terra Kneadalina]], [[Prioria Sweetalina]], [[Oceania Illumilina]], [[Hire Yureko]] and [[Konvoy Sagawa]].<ref name="ep84" /><ref name="ep88" /> Once Yuga had restored the memories of his friends that had been sealed by "Monster Reborn", Otes sent Yureko to kidnap Yuga Goha and imprisoned him at the [[Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village]], also having [[Nana Nanahoshi]], [[Kabuto Bito]] and [[Kirihito Kamagaya]] bound. Otes then revealed himself to Yuga Goha and told him he had done well in setting the destruction of Dueling in motion, while also livestreaming the conversation to the [[Goha Enterprises Main Office]], where Yuga and his friends had just learned the true story of ''[[SEVENS (book)|SEVENS]]''. Otes accepted, beginning with his own "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" and reminding them they shouldn't be surprised he had it given he had created the card. He encouraged Yuga to use his own "Sevens Road Magician", but to his surprise Yuga instead [[Maximum Summon]]ed "[[Yggdrago the Sky Emperor (anime)|Yggdrago the Sky Emperor]]", revealing he'd incorporated his friends' [[Signature card|ace monsters]] into his Deck. Despite the powerful effects of "Yggdrago", Otes was able to survive its attack and destroy it with "[[Road Magic - Dark Night (anime)|Road Magic - Dark Night]]" on his next turn, Summoning "[[Sevens Road Witch (anime)|Sevens Road Witch]]" and destroying Yuga's backup monsters, "[[Constructor Wyrm Buildragon (anime)|Constructor Wyrm Buildragon]]" and "[[Yamiruler the Dark Delayer (anime)|Yamiruler the Dark Delayer]]".<ref name="ep90">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! The stuff about Needle Wall and Ceiling did not nessecarily mean that they were related. I was trying to say that it is just coincidental. Red-Eyes Retro Dragon likely was not based on ''Overwatch'' character Tracer. That was a coincidence. I don't think some similarities between some cards(and possibly the things they are similar to) have to be intentional. Yuga then asked Otes why he was attempting to destroy Dueling, and Otes told them of his history and beliefs as ordained by ''SEVENS'', declaring children the king of games that needed to decide the fate of Dueling. He destroyed Yuga's monsters with "[[Darkness Zerorogue (anime)|Darkness Zerorogue]]" and [[Fusion (anime Rush Duel)|fused]] it with "Sevens Road Magician" into "[[Magician of Dark Sevens (anime)|Magician of Dark Sevens]]", though Yuga was able to survive the turn by using "[[Multistrike Dragon Dragias (anime)|Multistrike Dragon Dragias]]" as a shield and reducing the ATK of Otes' "[[Darkness Sanga]]". Yuga combated Otes on his next turn with the effects of "[[Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord (anime)|Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord]]", bringing "Dragias" back to his hand and [[Special Summon]]ing it and his own "Sevens Road Magician", then using their effects and "[[High Magic - Double Acceleration]]" to make "Sevens Road Magician" stronger than "Magician of Dark Sevens", but Otes was able to reduce their ATK. However Yuga played his own "Fusion", fusing "Sevens Road Magician" and "Dragias" into "[[Sevensgias the Magical Dragon Knight (anime)|Sevensgias the Magical Dragon Knight]]", though Otes had one last trick, forcing Yuga to attack him and take the battle damage when he destroyed his monsters using [[Trap Card]]s. Before the attack could strike, Otes' minions piloted the Super Rush Robot to the dark side of the moon and left, claiming their work hours were over: Otes learned after they had left that Nana Nanahoshi had sabotaged the girls' alarm clock so it sounded early.<ref name="ep91" /> As the President Drone began to forget its form and accused Otes of overusing it, Yuga returned alone in the Super Rush Robot to continue their Rush Duel, Otes realizing Yuga no longer had his [[Duel ID cards|Duel ID card]]. They resumed the Duel, but Yuga avoided losing by gaining enough [[LP]] to survive the damage with his "[[Perfect Sevens]]" Trap, which allowed a final attack that would defeat Otes. Otes tried to avoid a loss by reminding Yuga he would lose without his ID card when they re-entered the range of the Goha Duel Server, but Yuga used the Super Rush Robot to take them both to lightspeed, allowing him enough time to defeat Otes.<ref name="ep92">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! == Sorry About That(Trivia). ==

Before the two massive robots were destroyed by the forces pulling at them, Otes asked Yuga if he knew what would happen, though Yuga retorted Otes knew what he was thinking. Otes asked Yuga if he knew his feelings, Yuga claiming that of course he did. Otes' fate is left unknown after the Otes Robot's destruction. When Yuga returns to Earth two years after the events of the series, he is wearing a helmet similar in design to Otes'.<ref name="ep92" />

Otes created Dueling in ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS]]''. While working at [[Goha Enterprises]], in the Goha Development Department, Otes created cards for the game. His main known cards being the "[[Sevens Road]]" cards, based around [[SEVENS (book)|SEVENS]], starting with "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]". The following are the known cards he created.

==Decks==
I know that the edit might have been big, but the page needed an editing, as there were missing attacks and effects, and it was impossible with such a pain in the rear link to the table. I apologize if it was too big, but I do not recall removing formatting for Monsters. I only seek to contribute to this wiki with its attack/effect names and summon chants.
+
Each time Otes [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Duel]]s prior to his final Rush Duel against [[Yuga Ohdo]], he uses a Deck focused on a different [[Legend Card]], using various cards which [[support]] his Legend of choice. Most of his [[Monster Card|monster]]s in these Decks are imported from the ''[[TCG]]/[[OCG]]'', rather than being unique to ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel]]''.

I apologize if that happened, but the formatting of the box prevented any important edits that needed to be made, such as the attack name for Maximum Six or the removal of attack names that only applied to the movies. I had no better options.

In the past, Otes created and used "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]", later giving it to Yuga. Otes himself retains a copy of "Sevens Road Magician" with an alternate artwork.

===Sevens Road===

In his final [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Unlike Yuga's multi-[[Attribute]] Deck that includes [[Monster Card|monster]]s of other [[Type]]s, Otes focuses entirely on [[DARK]] Attribute [[Spellcaster]] Type monsters, and uses other [[effect]]s to take advantage of having a large number of monsters in his [[Graveyard]]. His Deck contains a large number of [[Trap Card]]s designed to return his alternate artwork "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" to the field should it be [[destroy]]ed and debilitate his opponent's moves in a variety of ways. Otes also includes "[[Fusion (anime Rush Duel)|Fusion]]" in this Deck, fusing "Sevens Road Magician" and "[[Darkness Zerorogue (anime)|Darkness Zerorogue]]" into "[[Magician of Dark Sevens (anime)|Magician of Dark Sevens]]", which takes advantage of the large number of monsters in his Graveyard to gain tremendous [[ATK]].

== Dueltaining HEROs ==

I'm not sure why you removed those Dueltaining Tips involving the HEROs. There are several HERO cards that enable multiple attacks in a turn. Wildedge, Ice Edge, Malicious Fiend, Infernal Gainer, Neos Knight, Assault Armor(Yes, I know it's not exclusively meant for HEROs), Hero Heart, etc.

Plus, Malicious Fiend forces your opponent's Monsters to attack, so you can expect to meet the 2nd condition of Dueltaining preeeeeeeeety often. So exactly WHY did you get rid of those HERO tips? Not mad, just curious. What is wrong with them?[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 20:31, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

Wait. I compared the previous few revisions on the tip page. I never said Goddess Bow lets you attack more than twice. I meant that it lets your Monster possibly attack twice. And I didn't say anything about "second and third attack effects". I just said that the HEROs that I mentioned are capable of attacking(Or in Infernal Gainer's case, allows multiple attacks) multiple times.

Plus, I didn't think Dueltaining would be very hard to use. I still don't. It can be exploited in Chain Burn, Gambling(Die Roll and Coin Toss), Paleozoic, Aggro/Beatdown, LP-related Decks(Like Last Turn, Reversal Quiz OTK, etc), Dragon, Machine, and Swarm Decks. I'm even thinking of a Dragon Deck involving Dueltaining myself. How would this card be hard to use in a specially made HERO Deck?[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 21:11, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

== V Rulers ==

I know it's weird to ask about this Monster, but I have an inquiry about Victory Dragon. In a Dragon Ruler Deck, this card would be very easy to summon(Adult Rulers). Now what I'm asking about is its capabilities. I've noticed myself that Dragon Ruler Decks revolve around a combination of Swarming and Beatdown tactics, so the attacks from your other Monsters would soften up your opponent, enough so that the direct attack from Victory Dragon would fulfill its win condition(Yes, I am aware of the surrendering scandal involving this card).

What I'm asking you is what do you think would be in such a Deck? I can imagine at most 3 copies of "Hardened Armed Dragon" and "Inferno Reckless", and probably "The Fang of Critias" and "Tyrant Wing, the intent being to use "Tyrant Burst Dragon" on "Victory Dragon". Perhaps the cards in the Mythic-Dark Matter combo would be in the Deck too. Are there other, if not better cards that you can think of for a V Ruler Deck? Yes, that's the name I thought of. V Ruler. It just clicked. But seriously, can you think of any cards that would be good parts of the Deck?[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 04:03, June 18, 2017 (UTC)

== Mad Dog ==

I watched Yugioh GX Episode 65. As it turns out, the main antagonist of the episode, Mad Dog, used a Virus/Slime Deck. However, he also uses two Spell cards that force the opponent to draw: Card Destruction and Contingency Fee. He used both cards while his Last Machine Acid Virus was still active, destroying many of Zane Truesdale's cards.

I have mentioned the concept myself, but this more or less implies that Mad Dog's Deck is a Virus/Draw Mill Deck. Why am I telling you this? Because, ironically, I didn't watch that episode until AFTER making my own Virus Mill deck. == Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ==

Hey, UK. I've recently heard about Light's Revenge, and how Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon is cheaper now. It's no secret that Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon is a very powerful Monster, being able to negate the effect of and destroy a Monster once during either player's turn. It also gains the ATK of a Level 5 or higher Monster that it is battling.

Now, both of these effects make it a good candidate for Last Turn, but Mirror Force Dragon is a better choice for that card. And both of these effects make it terrifying to use against people running Kozmo decks. Plus, it can take down El Shadoll Construct by negating her autokill effect after attacking her.

Even then, Crystal Wing's battle-related effect make it a major threat against decks such as Qli(So long, Apoqliphort Towers!), Monarch, Unstoppable Obelisk, and Tyrant Neptune OTK. Maybe Kaijus, too. I'm talking to you about this because those are the only decks I can think of that this card is a major threat to. Can you list any other decks that this card endangers? Basically, I'm asking you how good Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon is.[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 23:52, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

== "Normal" in a monster's Types ==

I am starting to see "Normal" listed in a monster's Types row (e.g. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Blue-Eyes_White_Dragon ). Why is this necessary? Isn't it supposed to show only what's displayed on the card? And only some normal monsters have that change, some others (like http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Luster_Dragon ) don't. :This is a new change with Starter Deck: Link Strike. Others will get it as they are reprinted. We know Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon have this change coming too. I personally think it's pointless given that's what you're supposed to get from the rulebook but it's coming now anyqay. --[[User:MasterMarik|MasterMarik]] ([[User talk:MasterMarik|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/MasterMarik|contribs]]) 11:18, July 24, 2017 (UTC)

== The Rescue Squad ==

UK, I'd like to give my two cents about the Rescue Squad, after seeing EERR(Emerging Emergency Rescute Rescue) and Rescue Ferret. It'd be sort of hard to make an entire Deck dedicated on the Rescue Squad.

Rescue Rabbit received notoriety due to its involvement in the Dino Rabbit Deck, and it's very flexible overall. Rescue Cat had 5 Decks based on it(See Synchro Cat). Rescue Hamster works well with Pendulum Decks, and Rescue Ferret's talents have yet to be seen.

If you ask me, the Rescue Squad should grow from this. Not just Level 3 and 4 Beasts. Monsters with different Types should be introduced. Maybe include "Rescue" Xyz and Link Monsters? And instead of only supporting new Summoning Mechanics, they should also support certain Deck types.

Rescue Komodo/Dragon(For Dragon Decks)

Rescue Dolphin/Fish(For Decks revolving around Superancient Deepsea King Ceolocanth)

Rescue Rex/Dinosaur(For Tyranno Infinity Decks)

Rescue Possum/Zombie(For Zombie Decks)

Rescue Goat/Fiend(For Fiend Decks)

And maybe there should be support monsters that are animals you'd, ironically, need to be rescued FROM. Honestly, you have anything to say about this?[[User:RedEyesBurn69|RedEyesBurn69]] ([[User talk:RedEyesBurn69|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/RedEyesBurn69|contribs]]) 17:53, July 28, 2017 (UTC)

Do you know what piece plays when Pegasus summons Dante? Starting at 4:56. It's all one piece but I can't figure out what the name of it is as a whole. I feel like it would be from [[Millennium Battle]] but I can't find a specific segment from there that fits in. Starting from 5:18 starts to sound like [[Summon the Dragon]]. 5:28 starts to add in an electric guitar and 5:40 adds a rising techno beat that sounds like it might be from [[Duel Madness]] or [[Noah's Theme]] but they aren't. And then it starts to fade at 6:01 but that sounds like another very familiar segment.

Hi, could you please check the latest [http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Tips:Telekinetic_Power_Well?action=history edit log] of Telekinetic Power Well tips page? Am I right to consider the tips of being historically applicable to TCG/OCG? I considered those tips I removed outdated or requiring too specific set-ups, could you please decide who is right about that? I really dont want to engage an edit war, so I would like to have the opinion of an admin, even if I'm wrong about this. Thanks.

Also, that user Feeder or something is chasing for tips I removed because he thinks it is worthy to state the obvious usage of such generic card like Dark Hole. Based on what ''you'' said when cleaning up the tips pages of That Grass Looks Greener and MST, I removed all those generical tips, considering how generic Dark Hole is. Could you help with this as well? That user wants to provoke me into an edit war, but I dont want this.

Well GustaphMax, you insist on saying that you're right and I'm wrong, you say that I want to provoke an edit war about this (which is false), even when long time ago some people (including admins) said you that you stopped making clean ups on pages, because that gives actually more work to editors than it prevents. Because you don't only remove "generical tips", you remove everything that you please to most of the time with poor reasons or even without giving any reason (and I have multiple prove of that). You chose to ignore that and insisted on continuing to make massive clean ups at your will. So yes, I'm going to revise as many pages as I can that you razed and deleted and restore everything that shouldn't have been removed (and so they can then be revised more carefully). And if you have anything to say on this, I'm eager to explain all the reasons why I'm right and why you should stop editing like you do before you try to put me in the vandal spot. --[[User:Feder373|Feder373]] ([[User talk:Feder373|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Feder373|contribs]]) 11:26, October 1, 2017 (UTC)

Well, i think you already have seen that a while ago i made the Card Trivia page of Phantom Dewan and Gate Deeg translating their weird words. Deeg would be the Dutch word for pasta and Dewan for hall. If i'm not wrong, eithe Snorlax monster or Deltanos deleted them, because i used google translator and they said to don't be a reliable word source. Well, i accepted that, and also, by what i got, they deleted them because the words had no relationship seen with the said monsters, but i saw this page http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Trivia:Minomushi_Warrior. == Sleeper status ==

I never said it was, but considering the number of other cards the ocg is still skittish over, I can't see them more open to banning this than the TCG is. Plus, didn't I give enough of a description explaining why it should be banned?  It certainly was more succinct then quik fix or drones' description.([[User:C107galaxytachyon|C107galaxytachyon]] ([[User talk:C107galaxytachyon|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/C107galaxytachyon|contribs]]) 23:35, November 12, 2017 (UTC))

: First of all, you must learn how to use a Talk Page. You posted a question on the [[User talk:TwoTailedFox]] about Sleeper being Forbidden, but now you are posting a reply here, and without a header... Now, answering your questions: no. That forum is to explain why cards as ''truly'' forbidden/limited, not about reasons why a card ''should'' be forbidden/limited. Sleeper is banned? No. So there's no point on including it on that forum or changing the status on its page. [[User:GustaphMax|GustaphMax]] ([[User talk:GustaphMax|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/GustaphMax|contribs]]) 01:04, November 13, 2017 (UTC)

That was in Traditional format, where cards can't be forbidden; only limited. You also didn't answer my question on why approval was given for both quik fix and drones' pages, but not mine. All I want is a concise explanation for these differences, as I already gave more detail on mine alone then both the formers' combined.([[User:C107galaxytachyon|C107galaxytachyon]] ([[User talk:C107galaxytachyon|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/C107galaxytachyon|contribs]]) 01:21, November 13, 2017 (UTC))

:Maybe that's because Drone and Quik Fix are officially limited by Konami, Sleeper are not. http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/index.html. While Sleeper is unlimited, the status on its page must remain unlimited and it must not be included on that forum, or this may confuse the players. Is this really so complicated for you to understand? Okay. I'll admit that was totally uncalled for, and I should've known better than to do that. But putting that aside, you never answered my question about the validity of quik fix and drone as limited SPYRAL cards. I just thought I would never hear back from you, ok? That's mostly the only reason I did that, but I promise it won't happen again, ok? ([[User:C107galaxytachyon|C107galaxytachyon]] ([[User talk:C107galaxytachyon|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/C107galaxytachyon|contribs]]) 21:20, November 13, 2017 (UTC))

Sigh. Really? You're bringing up that too? Look. The main reason I made a fuss about this was because I expected cards verified as Limited to have a concise explanation detailing why that's necessary. I just think both of the ones I mentioned weren't illustrative enough to justify their presence here. My problems with the stuff listed here starts and ends at that. I actually don't care THAT much, it's just annoying when Set Rotation and Blackwing - Gofu the Vague Shadow had actual effort put into their descriptions to justify their presence. If you have a rebuttal to that, I'm all ears. == Duel Dragon Translations ==

There is a Japanese wordplay in the manga!Stardusts, which is taking the kanji for Flash (閃光, senkou) and using

珖 in place of the one for "light", and the citation was meant to show how that particular kanji desn't seem to translate to anything other than the unit of measure for gold pureness. Plus I also meant to at least make them consistent since all three used different "attempts" of localizing the kanji (Jade, Light, Jewel).

I admit I consider myself decently good at discerning Japanese at this point, but the very reason I link to Jisho is to show I'm using at least a source, and I am ready to be proven inaccurate by someone else who is also proficient, but pardon me if I request something more than "I feel you might be missing something" as a reason to make me realize I'm wrong with my contributions. Not at all an insinuation I'm better than you guys, just saying those previous translations didn't seem very grounded after a few cross-checks. --[[User:XBrain130|XBrain130™]]「[[User talk:XBrain130|{{Ruby|X|エックス}}ブレーン130]]」  19:53, November 16, 2017 (UTC)

:Well, in that case I would honestly want to try earning you guys' trust. "not rigid and odd-sounding" is also what I aim to, but really not to the point of using "jumping through loops" logic or slapping in something completely unrelated. And "you've only recently started picking up Japanese + you're making a bunch of JP-translation edits now" is not exactly fair, since I've been making Japanese-related edits here at least since early 2013 (e.g. [http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Number_C39:_Utopia_Ray_Victory?diff=prev&oldid=2371785 adding hiragana and romaji]). --[[User:XBrain130|XBrain130™]]「[[User talk:XBrain130|{{Ruby|X|エックス}}ブレーン130]]」  22:14, November 16, 2017 (UTC)

== MediaWiki? ==

I don't know if this is something you'd be able to answer; but do you know if Yugipedia uses something called '''MediaWiki'''?  I can't remember if I told ''you'' this much, but I plan on making a wiki dedicated to my upcoming fan fiction, once I get a new desktop computer.  I was originally going to go with the flow and make it on Wikia/FANDOM (a.k.a. where our "old" wiki once was), because it would be both cheap and easy.  But when I solved an editing problem on this Wiki because I forgot to switch to "desktop mode", I've noticed something called "MediaWiki" in my settings.  Thus, I immediately thought: "Maybe ''this'' is my ticket to getting what I need..."

Thus, I was wondering if you'd be able to tell me if this Wiki, which I'm assuming is now run like the actual Wikipedia, uses MediaWiki?  If you respond, please do so on [[User talk:The-Psychid|my talk page]].  Thanks! --'''[[User:The-Psychid|<font color="#33cc66">Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID!</font>]] [[User talk:The-Psychid|<font color="skyblue">He talks!</font>]] [[Special:Contributions/The-Psychid|<font color="red">He does stuff!</font>]]''' 01:49, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

But anyway, I may have already told you about me making a "CardTable" template for my wiki, that might be very similar to the [[Template:Anime card|one reserved for anime-exclusive cards]], in which I took inspiration from [[wikia:c:ycm:User:XBrain130/Sandbox|XBrain's crack at it]].  I'm actually close to finished with it; all I need are the backgrounds for the anime cards.  By that, I mean the colors that are different from the color of the header where the name's displayed (hopefully [[Blue Flame Swordsman (anime)|this]] should show you what I mean).  If you could please give me the Hex codes for those colors, I would truly appreciate it.  And for your convenience, I won't need "special codes" for the gradients; I think I should be able to figure that out on my own.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. --'''[[User:The-Psychid|<font color="#33cc66">Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID!</font>]] [[User talk:The-Psychid|<font color="skyblue">He talks!</font>]] [[Special:Contributions/The-Psychid|<font color="red">He does stuff!</font>]]''' 19:29, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

==The Dragon Dwelling in the Deep==

No offence UK, but I would like to disagree with the choice to removing the trivia between "[[The Dragon Dwelling in the Abyss]]" and "[[Abyss Dweller]]". The latter would be a retrain of the former, it shares the same ATK/DEF/Type/Attribute, of course have extremely similar designs and both were originally TCG exclusive cards. == Wikia to FANDOM ==

In case you haven't heard the news, Wikia recently announced that they were changing their URLs from '''(wikiname).''wikia''.com''' to '''(wikiname).''fandom''.com'''.  Example: '''<nowiki>https://kimpossible.fandom.com/wiki/Kim_Possible</nowiki>'''

This announcement would be applied for '''''all''''' known wikis powered by Wikia/FANDOM, and the changes to all of them would be applied as early as late 2018 through early 2019.  As a result, it would only be appropriate that there be some kind of way to link to those wikis with the new URLs, should there be any YGO archetypes that would require their wiki articles to link to Wikia/FANDOM wikis.  The previous way to do it was, for example:

'''<nowiki>[[wikia:c:kimpossible:Kim Possible|Kim Possible]]</nowiki>'''

If you or anyone else knows the code to link to the Wikia/FANDOM wikis with new URLs similar to the aforementioned example, what would it be? --'''[[User:The-Psychid|<font color="#33cc66">Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID!</font>]] [[User talk:The-Psychid|<font color="skyblue">He talks!</font>]] [[Special:Contributions/The-Psychid|<font color="red">He does stuff!</font>]]''' 01:51, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

:When the change happens and is confirmed to be in place for all Wikia wikis, I'll update the interwiki prefix to link to fandom.com and probably also add a new <code>fandom:</code> interwiki prefix. In the meantime, I can guarantee the wikia.com URLs will continue to work indefinitely, so we shouldn't worry about updating these the very minute the changeover happens. <span class="nowrap">「[[User:Dinoguy1000|<span style="color:#00f;">ディノ</span><span style="color:#080;">奴</span>]][[Special:Contributions/Dinoguy1000|<span style="color:#F90;">千?!</span>]]」[[User talk:Dinoguy1000#top|☎ Dinoguy1000]]</span> 04:58, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

Hello, UltimateKuriboh/DN!

You recently updated an edit I made to Yugipedia's Damage Step page without adding a proper citation to justify the edit.

Under "Activating Cards & Effects During the Battle Phase", three of the citations listed in the explantion of using Quick-Effects during the Battle Phase were issued by Konami before the introduction of PSCT in 2012. The fourth citation you used to justify activating Quick-Effects of monsters to negate card effects is from The Perfect Rulebook 2017.

I am not sure if The Perfect Rulebook 2017 is an offical source. I understand it is published by Shuiesha in Japan, which publishes VJUMP. Regardless of whether or not Shuiesha is an valid source, The Perfect Rulebook has not been printed in the TCG. (This is especially important, as there are a few differences between rulings in the OCG & TCG.)

Looking at both the offical TCG Rulebook on the Offical Yug-Gi-Oh! website, as well as a helpful page on the that includes a chart to help players understand what things can happen and when things can happen during the Damage Step, there is no mention of being able to activate monster effects that can negate card effects duting the damage step.

Could you please cite an official TCG ruling if you still feel the edit you made is appropriate? I do feel it is appropriate for you to "Undo" that edit if you can't provide a source.

I hope you see this soon! <small>''—This unsigned comment was made by [[User:1DustinParrish|1DustinParrish]] ([[User talk:1DustinParrish|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/1DustinParrish|contribs]]) 19:27, 29 October 2018 (UTC)''</small>

Sorry about the annoying little edits! It took me hours to notice the "Preview" feature. Thank you for recommending the Sandbox feature to me! I'm not familiar with it; I'll make sure it is the next tool I learn to use.

This particular ruling stood out to me because I have seen judges both rule for and against "activating monster effects that negate during the Damage step".  The ones who rule for it say, "because so," while the ones who rule against it say, and I paraphrase, "because it isn't listed in valid actions in the TCG Rulebook".

I understand what you mean about the TCG side of the game covering less ground than the OCG side of the game. I have heard how frustrating getting answers from Konami can be. It helps that YGOrg translates Konami rulings. Maybe official Konami references to "negating monster effects during the Start of the Damage Step" can be found in one YGOrg's pages. (I know YGOrg isn't an official source, but I believe a page featuring translations would be a fair source.)

I'll definitely try to get a source on it because it is one or those things that I've seen players argue over. I'll DM you before I make an edit like that again. -I don't want to do anything to mess with the reliability of the Wiki as a source. <small>''—This unsigned comment was made by [[User:1DustinParrish|1DustinParrish]] ([[User talk:1DustinParrish|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/1DustinParrish|contribs]]) 00:01, 31 October 2018‎ (UTC)''</small>

== RE: Rapid Seed Fire ==

The biggest problem with your arguments are that you seem to think the rules of the game do not apply to the show. While it is true that in some cases they have broken the rules with certain cards it's more of an outlier when that happens. Rather than assuming this to be yet another outlier I would highly recommend considering the following.

Firstly, when Yuri activates rapid seed fire he says by sending Cordyceps to the graveyard he can inflict 300 damage to Yusho. While this does clearly indicate a cost is payed, which is true. This in no way implies that it must be the cost of the card's activation. Rapid seed fire only has a single effect that requires a cost to be payed so for that to be indicated specifically wouldn't make sense.

Secondly, unless the show makes it specifically clear that a rule exception has occured. I.e. there is no better explanation for what happened then I could accept that. However, the rules of the game and common sense both make it very difficult to accept that rapid seed fire is a one-time single-use burn effect. Please note that I am not saying that they don't make useless card effects for the show, but rather that in this case it is also inconsistent with normal game rules and there is insufficient evidence to prove that the card worked in the way that you assert.

Otes

Otes[4] (オーティス Ōtisu), initially known as the Hologram Man (ホログラムのおとこ Horoguramu no Otoko), is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime and the main antagonist of the Team Battle Royal and King of Duels arcs, and the overall central antagonist of the series. He was the creator of Dueling and a designer for Goha Enterprises who grew dissatisfied with the state of Dueling and sought to return the enjoyment of it back to the children, and he chose Yuga Ohdo to be the King of Duels.

Otes would test Yuga in the form of the Hologram Man, projected from a Relic that became the subject of urban legend. He is later suspected to be behind the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal and its ulterior motive of uninstalling Rush Dueling. When confronted by this accusation, Otes refuses to confirm or deny any responsibility, but he later reveals he desires to destroy all Dueling, and has been manipulating Yuga through most of the series.

Design

Appearance

Full-body view of Otes.

Otes is a tall pale-skinned man dressed in a white trenchcoat with gold markings and a red interior over a black jumpsuit with a gold belt and gold zipper. He also wears white knee-high boots and gloves, both with gold markings. Otes' face is never seen in the series: it is constantly concealed behind a mask that resembles Kite Tenjo's hairstyle, with a teardrop-shaped white point, and a triple-pronged attachment at the front with a red center prong and gold outer prongs. When Otes splits into three copies, they are all tinted with one of three colors; blue, red, and yellow. He also conceals himself in a purple cloak when attending the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal.

Personality

Otes is theatrical and showy, joining the 666th Goha Dueling Tournament with the intention of entertainment and dynamically Dueling for the crowd. He believes that the world of Dueling has become too rigid and that a new road needs to be cut open for the Duelists of the future, an ideal he passed down to Yuga Ohdo. Otes is even willing to defy Goha Enterprises to convey these ideals, despite being an employee at the time.[2][5]

Otes's nature as the Hologram Man is initially unclear; he is projected as a holographic Duelist and is shown to be capable of emoting and responding to live conversation. He is intrigued by Yuga's Rush Dueling, believing it to be a dynamic form of Dueling and adapts to the format quickly.[6]

Etymology

"Otes" may be derived from the name "Otis", which is another form of the name "Botis" in Goetian mythology, and is described as a president and earl, possibly referencing Otes's own desire to initially become the King of Duels.

Biography

History

Otes created Dueling before Goha Enterprises transformed it into Goha Dueling, and he continued to work as a card designer at Goha Enterprises.[7] Otes created "Monster Reborn", a card capable of altering the memories of people when used in a Duel, with the intention to block painful memories in weak Duelists.[8] As Dueling gradually became more restricted in Goha City and more complicated rules were enforced around it, Otes was driven to despair. He found a storybook, SEVENS, which told of an old man who manipulated a young sorcerer into gathering six companions, destroying the six elements, and battled the "SEVENS" on the moon, forcing the sorcerer to destroy the moon out of a belief a world in toil could only be saved by destroying it. Otes was inspired by this tale to destroy Dueling himself, and he created the "Sevens Road" series of cards based on the tales in the book.[7]

Otes was dissatisfied with the current state of Goha Duels but also desired to place their fate in the hands of those they were meant for: children.[7] Otes believed that a King of Duels would be able to accomplish this, though as an adult he didn't believe he was capable himself. He entered the 666th Goha Dueling Tournament despite regulations barring Goha employees from entering, Dueling with "Sevens Road Magician" and reaching the finals. His employment was discovered and Otes was disqualified, but before he was taken backstage, he saw Yuga Ohdo in the crowd and gave him "Sevens Road Magician", telling him to walk the road in his heart.[5]

Through unknown means, the image and personality of Otes were projected as the Hologram Man from a Relic that was inscribed with a legend of the King of Duels. This Relic took up residence inside an underground chamber in Goha City and was eventually discovered by both Roa Kassidy and Lucidien "Luke" Kallister a week before the series, both of whom desired to become the King of Duels themselves. Luke Dueled and defeated Otes six times, but each time a timer ran out and he received a penalty, eventually having his account locked.[6] Otes also visited the Goha Duel Overseer, Nail Saionji, who recognized Otes and Otes told Nail that Dueling would soon change and that a new King of Duels would appear.[9]

Birth of Rush Duels

Otes appears to Yuga and Luke.

After learning about Yuga Ohdo's Rush Dueling rules, Luke brought Yuga to the Hologram Man's chamber, suggesting that they could be the new path needed to defeat Otes. With only six minutes and sixty-six seconds after a Goha Enterprises Drone discovered Yuga and his friends, Yuga decided to use Real-Time Duel Programming to install his new rules by Rush Dueling Otes. Otes accepted Yuga's challenge, and he was intrigued by the repeated Summons of Rush Dueling, praising it as dynamic. Otes swiftly Tribute Summoned "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" on his first turn, destroyed Yuga's monsters, and reduced him to 1000 LP. Yuga was able to make a comeback on the next turn due to the rules of Rush Dueling allowing him to draw until he had five cards in his hand, Tribute Summoning "Sevens Road Magician" and increasing its ATK to 7000, destroying "Blue-Eyes" and defeating Otes. Following the Duel, Otes' voice congratulated Yuga, telling him that a new road would open.[6] Otes reappeared by the door, telling the kids that the one who would become the King of Duels would follow the new road, though the door he had made appear was just a hologram. Before vanishing, Otes told them that though the door had been opened, they would have to find it themselves.[10] Following that Duel, the Relic and Otes vanished without a trace, leaving behind seven symbols that formed the emblem of the Big Seven Arena, where the Relic would appear the next full moon.[2][11][12]

Otes appears during Yuga's Duel with Roa Kassidy.

Otes and the Relic re-emerged on the next full moon at the Big Seven Arena during a Rush Duel between Yuga and Roa, where Otes introduced himself to the assembled crowd and explained his desires. With the aid of the Goha 7th Elementary Newspaper Club, Otes confirmed that he had been disqualified from the 666th Goha Dueling Tournament for being a Goha Enterprises employee and that he had created "Sevens Road Magician", whose legality was currently under question. During the Duel, Yuga Summoned "Sevens Road Witch" and "Sevens Road Mage" in addition to "Sevens Road Magician", monsters that Otes confirmed he was responsible for creating, though he had only given "Sevens Road Magician" to Yuga, who had found the others on his own. Yuga defeated Roa, and as Goha Enterprises unsuccessfully tried to take possession of the Relic, Otes congratulated Yuga and told him he had only taken his first steps on the road to the King of Duels. Yuga himself admitted he hadn't been interested in the title prior, but was now and Otes bid him to look for the key to the door to a new world before vanishing underground.[2]

Maximum

Otes divides into three to test Gavin, Romin and Luke.

Otes became aware of Yuga's defeat at the hands of Nail and his new Maximum Summoning. Gavin, Luke and Romin all came to Otes' chamber and asked to speak with him, and Otes appeared to them once they had all arrived. He confirmed that he was aware of Maximum Summoning and that they wanted to know how to defeat it and he divided into three copies, explaining that they would all have to Rush Duel him and win to learn how to defeat Maximum. Otes also warned them that the Goha systems counted him among Yuga's allies, so regardless of the Duels' outcomes, they would all receive three penalties. All three copies of Otes opposed Gavin, Romin and Luke with the same strategy; Special Summoning "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" and inflicting severe damage to them with "Inferno Fire Blast", then retrieving the Spell Card with "Black Dragon's Roar" and increasing the ATK of "Red-Eyes", effectively giving them all one turn each to defeat him. To Otes' joy, all three of his opponents were able to find a way around his strategy and defeat him. Impressed by their resolve, Otes recombined back into a single copy and explained to Gavin, Romin and Luke that the hint they needed to defeat Maximum Summoning was already within them before vanishing.[4]

Team Battle Royal

Otes Rush Duels Yuga at Goha Stadium.

Otes became aware of the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, and of Yuga's unwillingness to participate in the tournament. He decided to visit the tournament grounds at Goha Stadium in person, despite knowing that his disqualification from the 666th Goha Dueling Tournament prohibited him from doing so, and passed by Yuga, Romin and Gavin to catch their attention. Yuga was asked to join the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club to enter the tournament, and when he protested that he only wanted to spectate, Otes revealed himself and challenged Yuga to a Rush Duel. Yuga accused Otes of trying to manipulate him again, but Otes dismissed the notion as preposterous and claimed he only wanted to inform Yuga of the true nature of the tournament if Yuga could defeat him. Otes opposed Yuga relentlessly with "Summoned Skull" and its support cards, even countering his combination of "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch", a strategy that impressed Luke. He noted to Yuga that the word of Rush Dueling had become larger since its inception, but asked if this would really be the end of it, and compared Yuga to a bystander who had stopped walking, suggesting that Rush Dueling could eventually become as strict as Goha Dueling was. Yuga was reinvigorated to continue, and he used "Sevens Road Warlock" to recover "Sevens Road Witch" and "Sevens Road Magician", but Otes returned all the monsters in Yuga's Graveyard to his Deck to prevent him from using the effect of "Sevens Road Magician". Yuga was instead able to use his own support card, "Sevens Twin Burst", to increase the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" high enough to surpass that of "Summoned Skull" and defeat Otes, giving Otes hope that Yuga's Road had taken off into the sky and that it would someday reach the stars. After the Duel, Yuga didn't ask Otes what he meant, having decided to join the tournament to learn the answer he was looking for. Otes was then arrested for his rule violations, and he allowed himself to be taken away by Goha Stadium's security, proclaiming that the Road Yuga needed to take would always be in his heart.[13] Once he was incarcerated, Otes briefly remained in his cell before using The Relic to escape through the floor.[14]

Otes monitors events from underground.

During the final Duel between Yuga and Luke, Otes watched as Rush Dueling was being uninstalled from the Relic underground, noting to himself that this was "Real-Time Rush Duel Uninstallation".[15] Otes himself watched the moon from atop a water tower as the Relic was destroyed by Galian Townsend, suspected of being behind the tournament and the uninstallation of Rush Dueling. However Yuga was able to reinstall Rush Dueling, this time locating its data within the Super Rush Robot that Nail had constructed from space debris, making it a more robust program.[16]

Goha 6 Siblings

Yuga brought his new friend Swirls with him to Otes' chamber, calling out to him and asking why he tried to uninstall Rush Dueling and what his true goal was. Otes appeared from a new Relic and told Yuga he would have to defeat him in a Duel to learn the answer, but Yuga stated that Swirls would Duel Otes instead. Noting Swirls' timid demanor, Otes slyly asked if he wouldn't just run away, but after Luke, Romin and Gavin arrived and encouraged him, Swirls agreed to Duel and borrowed Yuga's Deck, Rush Dueling for the first time. Swirls started with the same hand Yuga had during his first Rush Duel with Otes, and Otes likewise brought out "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" on his first turn and destroyed Swirls' monsters with "Burst Breath of Destruction", reducing him to 1000 LP. On his next turn Swirls again played the same moves as Yuga had, but this time drew and Summoned "Sevens Road Wiz" rather than "Sevens Road Magician", using its effect to reduce the ATK of "Blue-Eyes" to zero. Seeing the smiles on everyone's faces as Swirls attacked, Otes found himself smiling as well. After the Duel Yuga asked Otes to tell him why he'd tried to uninstall Rush Dueling, and Otes asked if Yuga actually had any proof that he was behind it before suggesting it had been a good thing, as it led to Rush Dueling becoming a more robust program, before retreating underground with the Relic.[17]

King of Duels

Yuga created a program that allowed anyone to upload Dueling rules to the Goha Duel Server, "Original Duel Development".[18] However, the reckless addition of formats required associated constructs to be created on the moon and risked a server overload. Although this would have been part of Otes' plan, he acted to control the load on the server to maintain it, also learning that Yuga Goha had been reawakened and deducing he would likely try to use "Monster Reborn" to wipe his memories.[19] As Otes had predicted, Yuga Goha eventually went to the his chamber and challenged him to a Rush Duel, accusing him of setting in motion the creation and attempted erasure of Rush Dueling to strengthen it and allow multiple formats to exist in the hands of children. Otes himself refused to confirm Yuga Goha's claims but accepted his Duel. Deducing Yuga Goha would want to send "Dark Magician" to the Graveyard and revive it with "Monster Reborn", Otes acted to prevent the move and almost defeated him with "Dark Magician" and "Dark Magician Girl". However Yuga Goha was able to successfully send "Dark Magician" to the Graveyard and revive it, defeating Otes. As Otes had history with Yuga Ohdo prior to the creation of Rush Dueling his memory remained unaffected, but he feigned memory loss and departed the chamber.[20][8]

Otes stopped managing the influx of new formats, furthering the notion his memory had been wiped, but continued to work behind the scenes with the assistance of Celestia Noodlina, Terra Kneadalina, Prioria Sweetalina, Oceania Illumilina, Hire Yureko and Konvoy Sagawa.[19][8] Once Yuga had restored the memories of his friends that had been sealed by "Monster Reborn", Otes sent Yureko to kidnap Yuga Goha and imprisoned him at the Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village, also having Nana Nanahoshi, Kabuto Bito and Kirihito Kamagaya bound. Otes then revealed himself to Yuga Goha and told him he had done well in setting the destruction of Dueling in motion, while also livestreaming the conversation to the Goha Enterprises Main Office, where Yuga and his friends had just learned the true story of SEVENS. However he refrained from revealing his true motives.[8]

Afterwards, Otes left Yuga Goha and his minions bound and departed for space in the Otes Robot with Celestia, Terra, Prioria, Oceania, Yureko, Sagawa, and the President Drone, lying in wait for Yuga to follow him on the other side of the moon. When Yuga, Luke, Romin, Gavin, Roa, Nail and Asana arrived in the Mutsuba Proto-Spaceship RUSH, Otes used the Otes Robot to attack them with meteors, though they combated him by taking control of the Super Rush Robot with the Goha Six's crowns and used it for Yuga to challenge Otes to a Rush Duel. Otes accepted, beginning with his own "Sevens Road Magician" and reminding them they shouldn't be surprised he had it given he had created the card. He encouraged Yuga to use his own "Sevens Road Magician", but to his surprise Yuga instead Maximum Summoned "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor", revealing he'd incorporated his friends' ace monsters into his Deck. Despite the powerful effects of "Yggdrago", Otes was able to survive its attack and destroy it with "Road Magic - Dark Night" on his next turn, Summoning "Sevens Road Witch" and destroying Yuga's backup monsters, "Constructor Wyrm Buildragon" and "Yamiruler the Dark Delayer".[21] When Yuga tried to counterattack with "Royal Rebel's Heavy Metal" and "Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar", Otes changed "Heavy Metal" face-down to ensure Yuga couldn't use its effect and had his minions rip their own formats from the Goha Duel Server to attack the Super Rush Robot and the Duel Server, though their efforts were thwarted by Yuga's other friends on Earth uninstalling their formats to block the strikes and the Goha Six arriving in Super Mobile Fortress Sixross with Yuga Goha in tow.[7]

Yuga then asked Otes why he was attempting to destroy Dueling, and Otes told them of his history and beliefs as ordained by SEVENS, declaring children the king of games that needed to decide the fate of Dueling. He destroyed Yuga's monsters with "Darkness Zerorogue" and fused it with "Sevens Road Magician" into "Magician of Dark Sevens", though Yuga was able to survive the turn by using "Multistrike Dragon Dragias" as a shield and reducing the ATK of Otes' "Darkness Sanga". Yuga combated Otes on his next turn with the effects of "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord", bringing "Dragias" back to his hand and Special Summoning it and his own "Sevens Road Magician", then using their effects and "High Magic - Double Acceleration" to make "Sevens Road Magician" stronger than "Magician of Dark Sevens", but Otes was able to reduce their ATK. However Yuga played his own "Fusion", fusing "Sevens Road Magician" and "Dragias" into "Sevensgias the Magical Dragon Knight", though Otes had one last trick, forcing Yuga to attack him and take the battle damage when he destroyed his monsters using Trap Cards. Before the attack could strike, Otes' minions piloted the Super Rush Robot to the dark side of the moon and left, claiming their work hours were over: Otes learned after they had left that Nana Nanahoshi had sabotaged the girls' alarm clock so it sounded early.[7] As the President Drone began to forget its form and accused Otes of overusing it, Yuga returned alone in the Super Rush Robot to continue their Rush Duel, Otes realizing Yuga no longer had his Duel ID card. They resumed the Duel, but Yuga avoided losing by gaining enough LP to survive the damage with his "Perfect Sevens" Trap, which allowed a final attack that would defeat Otes. Otes tried to avoid a loss by reminding Yuga he would lose without his ID card when they re-entered the range of the Goha Duel Server, but Yuga used the Super Rush Robot to take them both to lightspeed, allowing him enough time to defeat Otes.[22]

When Yuga returns to Earth two years after the events of the series, he is wearing a helmet similar in design to Otes'.[22]

Cards created

Otes created Dueling in Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. While working at Goha Enterprises, in the Goha Development Department, Otes created cards for the game. His main known cards being the "Sevens Road" cards, based around SEVENS, starting with "Sevens Road Magician". The following are the known cards he created.

Decks

Each time Otes Rush Duels prior to his final Rush Duel against Yuga Ohdo, he uses a Deck focused on a different Legend Card, using various cards which support his Legend of choice. Most of his monsters in these Decks are imported from the TCG/OCG, rather than being unique to Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel.

In the past, Otes created and used "Sevens Road Magician", later giving it to Yuga. Otes himself retains a copy of "Sevens Road Magician" with an alternate artwork.

Blue-Eyes

Using "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" against Yuga, Otes focuses on straightforward beatdown tactics, combining the high-Level and high-ATK "Blue-Eyes" with "Burst Breath of Destruction" to destroy his opponent's monsters. He reuses this Deck and the same moves during his Rush Duel with Swirls.

Red-Eyes

Using "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" against Gavin, Luke and Romin, Otes reuses "Inferno Fire Blast" to inflict large amounts of damage to his opponent each turn, even on the first turn.

Summoned Skull

Using "Summoned Skull" in his rematch against Yuga, Otes' strategy combines elements of his previous Duels, with high ATK and monster destruction effects together with effect damage, while also adding extra effects to protect "Summoned Skull" from destruction.

Dark Magician

In his Rush Duel against Yuga Goha, Otes used "Dark Magician" and cards that continuously prevent its destruction in anticipation of his use of "Monster Reborn" to try and seal his memories.

Sevens Road

In his final Rush Duel against Yuga, Otes uses a Sevens Road Deck, heavily supported by the "Darkness" series. Unlike Yuga's multi-Attribute Deck that includes monsters of other Types, Otes focuses entirely on DARK Attribute Spellcaster Type monsters, and uses other effects to take advantage of having a large number of monsters in his Graveyard. His Deck contains a large number of Trap Cards designed to return his alternate artwork "Sevens Road Magician" to the field should it be destroyed and debilitate his opponent's moves in a variety of ways. Otes also includes "Fusion" in this Deck, fusing "Sevens Road Magician" and "Darkness Zerorogue" into "Magician of Dark Sevens", which takes advantage of the large number of monsters in his Graveyard to gain tremendous ATK.
