So, here's the deal. WDC has already had 2 installments, that have slowly come to an end, however me and BobaFett2 want to restart this wonderful Forum. So we want your Ideas, make a new section for all the ideas and I'll add them to the Poll. I also ask that all people who post here have a Username or log in before posting, it makes it easier for us to contact you if we get confused about what your idea is. Make a new subsection under the ideas by using 3 === instead of 2.

We're going to restart the idea section, and remember to check the Overview page for a list of older contests, to check if your idea was already done.

Ideas

Nephthy's ideas

So, here are some random ideas from me:

Decks centered around 1 type, but using no archetype. Of course not dragons or Warriors, as those have a lot of support, but Winged-Beast, Beast, Insect etc. The only criterias are: 1) Only use cards of that type and 2) do not use 2 cards of the same archetype.

Decks to summon 2 Elemental Lords in any combination (so someone picks Moulinglacia+Windrose, other picks Moulinglacia+Pyrorex etc) Nephthy (talkcontribs) 15:52, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

I like the 2nd idea. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:03, March 10, 2013 (UTC)
Been there, done that. 2 Elemental Lords can be pulled off w/ very few things, leaving little variety. It's just not a really feasible idea. I'd just go with something like 2 weird Type combinations, like Plant/Dragon or Spellcaster/Rock that have to contributed to decently to both types in the deck. Attribute Lock

Slightly expanding on Nephthy's first idea, Decks centered around 1 Attribute, but also using no archetype. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 11:06, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

I like this as well. Let's try to get a few more ideas, and I'll go ahead and make a contest on Friday or Saturday, depending on my plans. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 14:10, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

Budget

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of a few decks that could be built on a budget, say like $100 (of course not stealing any from Zack Buckley at TCG Player). Giving a few decks that could hold their own in atleast a semi-competetive state. It also doesn't have to be striaght archetypes also it could also fit certain themes too, like Chaos, Bounce, Ritual, Fusion. It may not be the best idea, but it can certainly be quite fun and see some unique decks. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 20:41, March 12, 2013 (UTC)

Problem here lies in determining card values, especially when considering reprints and all. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 14:12, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Yea I figured that would have been a problem, still not a bad concept atleast. Hastydemon2 (talkcontribs) 15:31, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
I've built fantastic decks for under $30, once I even went under $10! So I'd love to help! :D Zubzy (talkcontribs) 05:16, March 18, 2013 (UTC)

Draw/Search Engines

We could try something like creating original draw/search engines or combinations (of course Spellbooks won't count). Just throwing something out there. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 01:53, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Number of copies

How about Decks where the number of each card used must be exactly 3 (what means no Semi and Limiteds) or 1 (but Limited aren't allowed). This idea could be merged with others, like the Attribute Lock, for extra challenge. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 21:30, March 16, 2013 (UTC)

Using exactly 3 copies of each card is nothing, I usually use 3 copies of a card, but using only 1 copy of every card, so basically 40 different cards... This is some challenge, I like it a lot! Nephthy (talkcontribs) 21:53, March 16, 2013 (UTC)
We can take this up another notch and set the minimum Deck size to 60 for that EDH feel. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 00:55, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
So the contest is using just 1 copy of each card and a minimum of 60 cards, right? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 16:00, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
That 60 card minimum is optional. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 13:58, March 18, 2013 (UTC)
40 cards - 1 copy of each - no Limited cards - (and if you dare) each card's name must start with your username's first letter :D --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 02:59, March 21, 2013 (UTC)
I think the first letter part is good enough as its own idea...and a really cool one at that. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 00:50, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
But what if the user just makes an archetype deck? For example: As MachoCheez, I could just make Mermails. I'd like to include the one-of-each rule. MachoCheez (talkcontribs) 04:52, March 22, 2013 (UTC)
I can only think of seven Archetypes that all the members start with their Archetype name off of the top of my head - Burning Knuckler, Blackwing, Hieratic, Mermail, Atlantean, Lightsworn, and the HERO archetypes. I know there's probably a lot more but yea. Also, it's kinda understood to not use an Archetype if we did do that, since that's not very creative and, being a quality of the winner of the competition, will not receive votes. But, if need be, we can just ban single Archetype decks for that idea. Btw, Mermails without the Atlanteans and Abyss-sphere would still be a challenge. Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 16:31, March 25, 2013 (UTC)
Yea, there's a lot more but still...haha Synchro Maniac10 (talkcontribs) 16:34, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Odd/Underused Synchro Monsters?

Well, I saw Chaos Goddess and thought why not do a contest with a theme of underused Synchro monsters? If you guys like this then do say something, and if you don't say something as well.

Possible Options for Cards:

The goal is to pick about 7 of them, as we usually don't have more than 8-12 contestants, and I had planned to allow 2 users to pick 1 card. I want to avoid picking too many Archetype based Synchro monsters, and ones that don't have restrictions or have specific type restrictions, that way the contest is more open-ended. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:44, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

I'm all for that. Priority for selection candidates could go to either extremely low-level Synchros or higher-level ones with terribly unwieldly conditions and/or effects. Heck, one could even look into the Bonuses section of any videogame and pick out some Synchro monsters in that list. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 03:48, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Sealed Pack Play?

So the basic idea is to take a few versatile packs, and use a random number generator to organize the card's into packs of around 50, and then ask contestants to make decks of 30 cards. Of course we won't really be able to play with them, unless DN allows games of 30 cards, which I don't think they do.

Honestly, this idea might be fun, but it's also going to be a lot of work using a random number gen to make the 50 card pools. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 00:13, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

How in the world do you do this?

Not sure how long since we did something like this. But why not a hard to summon contest? We have plenty new candidates. Like Sophia, Number 92 (or even 9). Or, fulfill a challenge. Like a deck (not hieratic) that can get out rank 8s at a decent pace. Or make a new take on a rabbit deck. I saw one that summoned out two Mask cards for Des Gradius. Anyone up for either of them? --Evolution Is The Key 05:38, April 13, 2013 (UTC)
