Well, I was thinking, and then thought that would be cool to hear what's you guys ideas of power. Yusei's idea is to tune weak monster into stronger ones. Jack's idea is to summon as many powerful monsters as possible and tune them with low level tuners for his synchro monsters. One of my cousins (I have more than ten) idea of power is to summon monsters with low level but high ATK to overwhelm the opponent, at the same time he protects his monsters with many spell and trap card effects, as so that his opponent wouldn't cripple his strategy. Mine idea of power is to be basic, having monsters with medium ATK for their levels, that can hang a while by themselves on the field, while waiting for my stronger cards (resuming: until the creation of the Scrap archetype I've used Elemental Heroes). So, what's your idea of power. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 18:35, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

well if i had a choice in the matter i really like the idea of using a deck comprised of union monsters whos effects activates on its summons and when equiped....and also a unique synchro summon called "nexus synchro" or something that is created when sending a monster that is equiped with a union monster to the grave to synchro summon a monster....something like this: when this monster is equipped with a union monster it is treated as a nexus monster....you can send this face up monster equipped with a union monster to summon a synchro monster who's atk is equal to or less than the combined atk of the material monsters used in its summon(this is treated as a nexus synchro summon)the idea is to nexus summon monsters by sending monsters to grave when equipped by a union monster to summon a synchro monster whos atk is equal to or less than the combined atk of the material monsters that summoned it--Litherain (talkcontribs) 19:22, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

So, your idea of power is to use monsters that help another monsters, giving them more power and additional effects, with a bit of a Synchro Summoning strategy. I like to talk this way. It seems more poethic and intelligent in my opinion. Also, you're a member of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker Forum? I remember seeing a union tuner in the site a while ago, that would tune himself with the monster it is equiped. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 19:34, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

yeah ^_^ well another idea i had was this fusion machine deck by the archetype of "VX machine cards" were it utilizes its power based on its fusion summon method....the 2 main cards is either polemerization or VX-fusion(spell card). when the spell VX_fusion is played it basically is like another overload fusion only it works for VX fusion monsters instead and the deck has alot of fusion monsters to choose from in which it they have powerful effects that can only be used via its summoning method heres an example: VX cyber-tech dragon...atk 3200 def 1600 fusion material: 1 VX dragon + 1 VX monster....effect: this card can only be summoned by fusion summon.when this card is summoned to the field activate the following effect that corresponds to its summoning method: polymerization- double this cards atk.....VX-fusion(spell card)-destroy 2 cards on the field.......the idea is using polemerization or VX fusion to be able to use effects that activate based on the card that summoned the fusion monster--Litherain (talkcontribs) 20:10, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Mine is mixed, almost everything. I incorporate fusions, synchro's, tributes, occasionally rituals, effect monsters, lots of stuff. I tend to have lots of different strategies. Apparently this is unadvised, but it works for me. I usually start with defensive monsters, and a few offensive, and cards with effects beneficial to me, or annoying to my opponent, with good effects, even if they don't fit into my strategy. That throws off my opponents strategy, as they can never really seal me off, there's always something else I can do. I usually lead into a synchro summon, or a fusion summon of Arcana Knight Joker. Then I have strength on the feild. I'll occasionally ritual summon, and I've got good cards up my sleeve, such as The Creator. So I sort of lead into bigger things while holding off or disrupting the strategy of my opponent, and even if they get the upper hand, I'll usually have something to counter with. So my idea of power is using every card to the best of it's ability, whether that's using it's effect, or using it to hold off my opponent while I synchro summon a monster. All my stronger monsters tend to be fusions or synchro's, and most of my monsters aren't really beatsticks, I rely more on effects, except for Joker. Use all your cards wisely, lead into bigger things and disrupt my opponent. That's my kind of strategy. Most of the time. Kwame120 (talkcontribs) 21:35, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Cool =D. Me too have a lot of strategies, but each in a different deck, and I most use my decks other than my Scrap deck as Gauntlets. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 21:53, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

I just learned what Gauntlets and netdecked are! I've tried using decks with one strategy, but for me they're too hard core, a bit like EV training in Pokemon. I just prefer using a deck with my favourite cards, to the best of it's ability. Kwame120 (talkcontribs) 22:01, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

My idea of power is using weak monsters to summon strong monsters. I understand the power of strong cards while recognizing the importance of weak ones. That's why I run my own Monarch variant. Fun fact: It has no level 4 monsters. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 21:58, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Does it include below level 4 monsters? Because If not, I'd like to know how you do it, and if so, I'd still like to know how you do it. Are lots of them special summon from hand monsters, or do you use trap monsters? Kwame120 (talkcontribs) 22:03, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

My idea of power is the more monster the merrier and attack point power. That's how people from long time ago like generals do it. Swarm and Power. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 22:55, September 24, 2010 (UTC)

Power to me is the ability to do whatever you want and the opponent is unable to do a thing about it. You can have all the ATK you want, but you try going anywhere when you run into a Magic Cylinder. Essentially the basis of a lockdown. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 01:05, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

My idea of power is various cards coming together, working off one another to create something amazing, in short combos...BassNettoHikari2...Chat Page... 01:16, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

I think using Beatdown (with or without burn) with some field control is the essential of a Power Deck. That's why I love Darklords so much. --Drew-Gi-Oh! (talk) 02:00, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

3 Proof of Powerlessness--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 12:21, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

I'm liking how this is doing. An idea of power is not a strategy, but the strategy that have more to do with you. Maybe it doesn't have to do with your personality. Maybe it have to do with it. Maybe Lappyzard is going to change to the Inverz when they come in the TCG. Maybe he simple likes more the Monarchs. One thing that makes us all unique is the way we think. Each of us have a different idea of power. Maybe two person share a similar idea. But their decks aren't going to be identical. The minor differences in a deck show how we are different in the way we think. Maybe that's what makes each duelist unique. I hope this lasts for weeks, maybe months, or if I'm lucky more than a year. I know I'm talking like a character from the anime/manga, maybe too much dramatic. But it's okay as long as I can show my opinion. I have a feeling that there's more to write here, but I can't think what I'm going to write. So I'll end here. Oh and Helix-king: use these three cards is not a idea of power. I'ts using three of the same card. An idea of power can't be so specific. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 13:10, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Kwame, my deck is a Monarch variant centered around Level Eater. It has no level 4 monsters, and 18 level 5+ monsters (9 Monarchs, 3 Cyber Dragon, 3 Tricky, and 3 Quickdraw). The way it works is it uses Level Eater to feed off of the high level monsters for use as Tribute fodder. It has high field presence and a lot of destructive power. The only issue is low hand count, so Morphing Jar is thrown in. Besides that, it has the usual Monarch fodder of Dandylion and Treeborn Frog. 3 Dark Bribes are included to shut down my opponent when they try to disrupt my plans. The deck is fast and powerful, often winning within three turns. The only issue is consistency, having 9 Monarchs, but that usually isn't a problem. In many situations, half my deck or more can save me even with a near-empty hand and field. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 16:18, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

We are talking about power, not deck strategies. Something like Swarming, Spells and Trap Force, Attack Power, Defense power, etc. Something like that. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 17:46, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

He was simple answering Kwame. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 17:50, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Oh. Sorry my bad........ Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 04:33, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

I believe the idea of "Power" was always around monster(s)'s ATK. That's why Seto Kaiba, Zane Truesdale and Jack Atlas are considering to have "Power Decks" in the anime, cuz their monsters can easily overpass 3~4~5000 ATK points. Fawlker 19:24, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Yes they have power decks. But power in this sense means strenght. Power is not only strenght. This is called a Beatdown Deck. Power is potential into stronger monsters (Synchro Decks), Overwhelming the opponent with effects (Any lockdown or burn deck). Essentialy, not all super powers from comics have to do with combat. And that's the same with any kind of power. Here we are discussing what each of us consider power to be. And as long as I know the term power deck wasn't used until Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's,as Kaiba and Zane decks weren't named by a strategy but instead by it's main card (Blue-Eyes DEck and Cyber Dragon Deck). And in true TCG/OCG they would be called Beatdown/Aggro Decks. By Snetonobre (talkcontribs) 19:35, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
