"Tiger Trouble!", known as "The Merciless Tiger" in the Japanese version, is the seventy-sixth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. It first aired in Japan on November 28, 2021 and will air in America on July 15, 2023.

Swirls has been acting odd. As Yuga and company try to figure out a way to bring him back to normal, they learn that there is a forbidden card that can control people through Dueling. Who would enjoy doing something so terrible to other people? Since Nana might have something to do with this forbidden card, Yuga and Luke decide to look for her. However, standing in their way is someone they could have never expected...!

Summary

At the Big Seven Arena, Swirls's snarls echo through the corridors as he strains at the bars of his cage to get at a terrified Luke, Kaizo holding Swirls back and telling him he'll get indigestion if he tries to eat Luke. Meanwhile Toombs has just told Yuga about a Duel that can manipulate someone, an urban legend among the occult Dueling community and Yuga wonders if this is why Swirls is acting so strangely. Toombs comments that they can believe it or not and Luke quickly asks how to turn Swirls back to normal, but Toombs doesn't know. Luke scoffs that Toombs hasn't been very helpful, but Yuga claims that Toombs has been very helpful, so Luke admits that he should thank him for that at least...but he's forgotten Toombs's name again and poor Toombs screams that his name is Toombs in frustration.

Later Yuga and Luke walk down the streets of Goha City while Kaizo restrains Swirls behind them, Yuga noting that they should be able to break the spell on Swirls and return him to normal if the urban legend Toombs told them about is true. Luke pats Swirls to reassure him that they'll save him, but Swirls promptly bites his hand and he yelps in pain. As Luke nurses his wrist he laments that he'd hoped Toombs would know more about how to break the curse, and Kaizo reminds him it's a spell (Luke had mixed up the Japanese names for "curse" and "magic"). Luke ponders if they could put a Spell Card on Swirls' forehead or Summon a monster to put him in a headlock, but he collapses out of nowhere, much to Yuga and Kaizo's shock, and Luke cries that he can't take it, protesting that using his head so much has made him hungry and begging for food. Fortunately Kaizo and Yuga spot a poster for the Ramen Hut's new "UmaiEats" delivery service, Kaizo noting they'll deliver to any address with the first order being free, and Luke immediately sticks his phone up for them to place an order. Afterwards Yuga wonders how deliveries are being done when the old man is the only one working there, and right on cue Nail Saionji arrives on a bicycle, telling them their delivery has arrived and this is "UmaiEats", much to Yuga's shock.

At the Goha Enterprises Main Office Yuo taps his finger on his desk impatiently, wondering what Yuga is doing when the time for their emergency meeting has long since passed. He gets a call from the President Drone and asks if it found Yuga, but Dohl reveals that not only is Yuga not in the building, but he left his phone behind. Yuo hangs up in frustration, noting this must be why Yuga isn't answering his calls.

As Luke sucks down ramen in the nearby park and Swirls snarls in the background while trying to much on Kaizo, Yuga has just told Nail about the Duel that can manipulate people, and Nail admits it isn't implausible, much to Yuga and Luke's surprise. Nail explains that Goha Enterprises had a similar rumor about a forbidden card that could manipulate people through a Duel and Luke asks what card it was, but Nail doesn't know. Yuga notes that someone must have used this card to manipulate Swirls and Luke angrily asks who or what could do such a thing. Nail comments that it's completely against providence and Yuga believes only one person could do such a thing: Nana Nanahoshi. After they part ways with Nail, Luke asks if Yuga means the insect ninjas and Yuga asks Luke if he remembers when Nana and the Dueling Insects Club came to Goha Enterprises on a field trip with Goha #5 Elementary, admitting he thought she was just trying to steal his Maximum Monsters at the time. Luke realizes that Yuga thinks she was instead after the forbidden card and Yuga postulates that she used it on Swirls during the zombie party. Luke asks why Nana would do something so evil and Yuga points out they can just ask her when they find her. Kaizo laments that won't be easy, and promptly passes a poster for the "Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village", alerting Yuga and Luke to it, and they cry that it's exactly what they need.

They head to the Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village with Swirls in tow, an abandoned amusement park outside Goha City, and head inside, Luke calling out for "Nanahosshi" and asking to take a selfie with them (having mixed up Nana's surname with a mascot name). Kaizo tells him they're not here to play around and Yuga notes the area lokos to be abandoned. But to their shock they see Tiger standing in front of them and Yuga and Luke both call her nickname, Luke wondering hesitantly if she's here to help them, but Tiger states she won't say anything more than this: to leave this Swirls business alone immediately unless they want to see hell itself. Yuga gasps and Luke asks what his big sister is saying in shock before realizing he didn't use her nickname and diving behind Yuga. But Tiger doesn't react, and Luke tentatively tries calling her "big sis" again and again, but she doesn't even react to him calling her his big brother, and Luke yelps that somehow her not being angry over this is even scarier. Yuga tells Tiger that Swirls is his friend, so is she telling him not to help a friend? Luke asks why Tiger is acting so weird, but Tiger claims their naïve façade of friendship is making her sick. Yuga stomps forwards, angrily protesting that's no reason to stop them, so Tiger jams her bassoon into the ground and straps on her Duel Disk, noting that she'll indulge them if they want to be torn to shreds. Luke gasps, and then he and Yuga turn back to see Swirls chewing on Kaizo again. Gritting his teeth, Yuga turns back to Tiger and notes that it looks like he has no choice as he raises his own Duel Disk, Luke gasping his name in shock. Yuga and Tiger insert their Decks into their Duel Disks with a cry of "Rush Duel!" to deploy the blades and the green holographic dome.

Yuga declares his turn and draws, his hand containing "Graceful Charity", "Straynge Cat", "Magical Beast Wolfang", "Curtain of Sparks", and "Dark Revelation". He activates the Spell Card "Graceful Charity" to draw three cards, "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord [L]", "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord", and "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord [R]", then discarding two ("Straynge Cat" and "Wolfang"). Declaring that he's going all out from the start, Yuga places down the three "Magnum Overlord" cards, chanting "A strong armor that never breaks! Achieving supersonic flight with gale-force winds! Carving everything open with maximum firepower! Full speed ahead! Maximum Summon! Come on out, Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord!" Yuga then sends two cards from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Magnum Overlord" ("Sevens Road Magician" and a Normal Monster), reducing the MAXIMUM ATK of "Magnum Overlord" to 2500, much to Tiger's surprise. Luke explains that "Magnum Overlord" can attack all monsters and inflict piercing battle damage, and Kaizo believes it to be pointless when you can't attack on the first turn, but Luke explains Yuga's aim was to send cards to his Graveyard. Yuga Sets two cards, ending his turn and returning the MAXIMUM ATK of "Magnum Overlord" to normal.

Noting that it's her turn next, Tiger draws, her hand containing "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend", two "Horn Knives the Music Princess", "Sansetsukontra the Music Fiend", and "Ophiclaymore the Music Princess". She Summons the two "Horn Knives the Music Princesses" and activates the effect of one of them, sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard, then if it was a Warrior Type monster she adds a Warrior Type Normal Monster to her hand. She sends and adds "Brassaxophone the Music Princess", then activates the effect of her other "Horn Knives", this time sending "Boton the Music Princess" to the Graveyard and adding it back to her hand. Then she Tributes both "Horn Knives" to Tribute Summon "Sansetsukontra the Music Fiend", which appears with 2000 ATK as Kaizo describes it as a fortissimo monster truly worthy of a hand-to-hand fighting symphony and Yuga and Luke gasp. Tiger activates the effect of "Sansetsukontra", sending the top three cards of her Deck ("Trumpetonfa the Music Princess", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", and "Clubinet the Music Princess") to the Graveyard, then drawing three cards since her opponent controls a monster with at least 3000 ATK. Luke gasps that Tiger has seven cards in her hand and Yuga grits his teeth as Tiger comments that Mistress Tiger's recital today will be a tone or two different, Summoning "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" and "Boton the Music Princess", then Tributing "Brassaxophone" and "Sansetsukontra" to Tribute Summoned "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend". Then to Yuga and Luke's shock she plays "Fusion", fusing "Ensembullfighter" and "Boton" as she chants "An ensemble of blood circulating like breath... A beat overflowing in endorphins! Let me hear your magnificent cry of victory! An orchestra of fighting spirit! Fusion Summon! Come out! Full Orchestra the Music Fiend!"

"Full Orchestra" appears with 2900 ATK Yuga asks and Luke asks if this is his big sister's Fusion Monster. Tiger activates the Spell Card "Music Princess's Duet", returning cards from her Graveyard to her Deck equal to the Level of "Full Orchestra" (two "Horn Knives", "Trumpetonfa", "Nuncharinet", "Clubinet", Sansetsukontra", "Brassaxophone", Ensemble Fighter", and "Boton" for a total of nine) to double its ATK. "Full Orchestra" rises to 5800 ATK and Luke gasps that it gained 2900 ATK as Yuga flinches back, though he thinks he's safe with "Dark Revelation" face-down. But Tiger Sets a card, then discards the last card in her hand, "Ophiclaymore" to activate the effect of "Full Orchestra", chanting "The chords of fear, trembling and despair are but preludes to ruin! Discord Introduction!" Sonic waves radiate from "Full Orchestra" as Tiger explains that all the cards in Yuga's Spell & Trap Zones will be destroyed. Yuga gasps "What?!" as his Set "Dark Revelation" and "Curtain of Sparks" shatter and Tiger adds that "Full Orchestra" will also gain 600 ATK for each card it destroyed until the end of the turn, Yuga an Luke gasping in shock as "Full Orchestra" rises to 7000 ATK. Tiger declares battle, ordering "Full Orchestra" to attack "Magnum Overlord" and chanting "Grace us with your sound, a cantata full of the laments of the defeated! Merciless Movement - Smashed to Pieces!" "Full Orchestra" blasts a stream of concentrated music at "Magnum Overlord", destroying it and reducing Yuga to 500 LP, dropping him to one knee. Luke gasps his friend's name and runs up to him, angrily asking Tiger why she's standing in their way, but then wonders in shock if Tiger is in league with the insect ninjas, a statement that elicits a gasp for Yuga. But Tiger just ends her turn, returning the ATK of "Full Orchestra" to normal, and though Luke notes she isn't answering, he still asks why. Yuga gets to his feet, grimly noting that the reason doesn't matter, as he'll never forgive someone who manipulates others through Dueling. Luke gasps and Yuga insists they have to help Swirls, don't they Luke? Luke is surprised, but enthusiastically agrees.

Declaring his turn, Yuga draws five cards; "Road Magic - Tectonic Shift", "Mr. Alchemy", "Steel Mech Lord Mirror Innovator", "Sevens Glory", and "Swordsman of Roadstar". He Summons "Mr. Alchemy", then sends it to the Graveyard to activate its effect, adding "Straynge Cat" from his Graveyard to his hand and then drawing another card - his own "Fusion". Luke grins, commenting that the curtain is about to open on their own recital, and Yuga Summons "Swordsman of Roadstar", then sends "Mirror Innovator" from his hand to the Graveyard to activate "Sevens Glory" and Special Summon "Sevens Road Magician" from his Graveyard. Luke tells Yuga it's time for the finale, and Yuga borrows the power of a monster that controls the EARTH ("Straynge Cat") to activate the Spell "Road Magic - Tectonic Shift". "Sevens Road Magician" stabs its sword into the ground, splintering the earth, and as the specter of "Mirror Innovator" appears alongside it, Yuga explains that "Full Orchestra" will lose ATK equal to the highest ATK in his Graveyard until the end of the turn, and rocks rain down around "Full Orchestra" as it falls to 500 ATK. Luke tells Yuga to start the ensemble and play their march to the daor of victory, and Yuga grins as he activates "Fusion" to Fusion Summon using "Sevens Road Magician" and "Swordsman of Roadstar", chanting "With the new power bestowed by the meteor! The hero of miracles bearing the name of Sevens comes into existence! Wield your demonic blade! Sevens Paladin!" Luke grins as "Sevens Paladin" appears, but takes note when Tiger doesn't even react to "Sevens Paladin". Yuga sends the top card of his Deck ("Wind Spirit's Protection") to the Graveyard to activate the Multi-Choice Effect of "Sevens Paladin", chanting "Carve open a road to victory that leads to the truth! Elemental Ultima Road!" Tiger watches without reacting and Luke realizes this feeling is like whenever his big sister was about to beat him up. Yuga explains that "Sevens Paladin" gains 400 ATK for each different Attribute in their Graveyards, with Tiger's containing a WIND monster and Yuga's containing the other five, and "Sevens Paladin" powers up to 5200 ATK. Yuga declares that he's coming, vowing that he'll take the road he believes in, the road that should be taken, no matter the opposition.

Tiger grins and Luke gasps as Yuga orders "Sevens Paladin" to attack "Full Orchestra". Luke begs Yuga not to attack, but "Sevens Paladin" is already lunging forwards and Tiger asks if Yuga is ready to repent in hell for his foolishness, shallowness, immaturity and thoughtlessness. Yuga gasps in shock and Tiger activates a Trap Card, "Music Princess's Requiem", reducing the ATK of the attacking monster by its Level times 600. The Level 9 "Sevens Paladin" is dropped to zero ATK as Yuga and Luke gasp in horror, and "Full Orchestra" counters "Sevens Paladin's" slash and destroys it, reducing Yuga's LP to zero and blasting him off his feet with a cry.

As the dust clear Luke cries his friend's name and runs to help him up, Yuga quickly suggesting they leave so they can find Nana. Tiger grimly notes that this punishment obviously wasn't enough for them and Yuga angrily snaps that his friend was hurt and she told him to abandon them; he'd never bow and listen to that. Tiger states that Yuga has forced her hand and slams her bassoon into the ground, prompting her Music Clubmates to leap out and join her. But then Kaizo moves in between Tiger and Yuga, claiming that he hasn't been twiddling his thumbs while being modified for no reason, and he Summons a massive robot body that he claims to be his final form: "God Kaizo" and tells them to hurry off and leave this to him. Yuga thanks Kaizo as Luke picks Swirls up and they both sprint away as God Kaizo engages Tiger's clubmates, while Tiger watches them run. They run further into the Nanahoshi Insect Ninja Village, calling for Nana and her allies, but though they search until evening, they find no sign of her.

Yuga and Luke return to Goha City as the sun sets, Yuga reassuring Luke they'll definitely find Nana tomorrow. Luke apologizes for Tiger siding with Nana, though Yuga reassures him that he doesn't have to apologize and asks Swirls if he agrees, though Swirls just starts munching ineffectively on Luke's neck. As Luke tries to pry Swirls off, a brown-haired woman emerges from a house and asks Yuga if he's home, and Yuga confirms to his mother that he is. She asks if Luke is his friend and greets him, Luke promptly standing up straight to politely return her greeting - and then he realizes that she's Yuga's mother and this is Yuga's house, which he had assumed to be a Goha mansion, much to the Ohdos' confusion. They head inside for hot drinks where Luke tells Yuga about his belief he's the sixth of the Goha Six, much to Yuga's bewilderment. As Swirls lies sprawled on Luke's lap, the phone rings and Yuga's mother laments that Goha President is being really persistent, prompting Yuga and Luke to exchange glances, and Yuga's mother notes that she's sure it'll eventually stop since Yuga made a bunch of "prank call repellant" Roads. On cue an automatic voice tells the caller that this is an interstellar call and every seven seconds of the call will incur a charge of seven million yen, and after the tone, Yuo introduces himself as Yuo Goha, Goha President, and nervously asks if the call really charges so much yen.

Yuga freaks out - he'd totally forgotten about the emergency meeting. He and Luke quickly return to the Goha Enterprises Main Office to find Romin (now back in her usual outfit) and Gavin waving at them. As they take the elevator up to Yuo's office, Luke tells them that Yuga isn't the sixth of the Goha Six, and as Gavin muses on the notion, Romin admits that Yuga scared her for a bit but she's a little relieved. Luke asks Gavin and Romin about how they said the insect ninjas were messing with them too and Gavin admits that he can't believe he tried to go behind Yuga's back even if he was being manipulated and bows in apology, calling his actions disgraceful, while Romin bows as well. Yuga reassures them that it's fine and he doesn't care, suggesting they also come to his house sometime, an offer Gavin and Romin eagerly accept. As the elevator reaches Yuo's office, Yuga cheerfully strolls in and apologizes for being late, but it surprised to only see Yuo and Dohl and asks if everyone else is late too. Yuo replies that everyone he wanted is here, though there's also people he didn't ask for. Shrugging it off, he suggests they start their emergency meeting.

Featured Duel: Yuga Ohdo vs Tiadosia "Tiger" Kallister

This Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Yuga
Yuga's hand contains "Graceful Charity", "Straynge Cat", "Magical Beast Wolfang", "Curtain of Sparks", and "Dark Revelation". Yuga activates the Spell Card "Graceful Charity", drawing three cards, then sending two cards from his hand to the Graveyard. He draws "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord [L]", "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord", and "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord [R]", then sends "Straynge Cat" and "Wolfang" from his hand to the Graveyard. Yuga Maximum Summons "Magnum Overlord [L]", "Magnum Overlord", and "Magnum Overlord [R]", entering Maximum Mode (3500 MAXIMUM ATK). As "Magnum Overlord" is in Maximum Mode, Yuga activates the effect of "Magnum Overlord [R]", sending the top two cards of his Deck to the Graveyard to reduce the ATK of "Magnum Overlord" by 1000 until the end of the turn, also for the rest of this turn, it cannot attack directly, it can attack all monsters Tiger controls, once each, and it inflicts piercing battle damage. He sends "Sevens Road Magician" and an unknown Spellcaster Type Normal Monster from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Magnum Overlord": 3500 → 2500 MAXIMUM ATK).[Note 1] Yuga Sets two cards.

Turn 2: Tiger
Tiger's hand contains "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend", two copies of "Horn Knives the Music Princess", "Sansetsukontra the Music Fiend", and "Ophiclaymore the Music Princess". Tiger Normal Summons both copies of "Horn Knives the Music Princess" (500/500). As "Horn Knives" was Normal Summoned this turn, Tiger activates its effect, sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard, and if she sends a Warrior Type monster to the Graveyard with this effect, she can add a Warrior Type Normal Monster from her Graveyard to her hand. Tiger sends "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard, then adds "Brassax" from her Graveyard to her hand. Tiger's hand contains "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend", "Sansetsukontra the Music Fiend", "Ophiclaymore the Music Princess", and "Brassax". Tiger activates the effect of her other "Horn Knives", sending "Boton the Music Princess" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard, then adding "Boton" from her Graveyard to her hand. Tiger Tributes both copies of "Horn Knives" to Tribute Summon "Sansetsukontra the Music Fiend" (2000/2500). As Tiger controls no other monsters, she activates the effect of "Sansetsukontra", sending the top three cards of her Deck to the Graveyard, and if Yuga controls a monster with 3000 or more ATK, she can draw three cards. Tiger sends "Trumpetonfa the Music Princess", "Nuncharinet the Music Princess", and "Clubinet the Music Princess" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard, then draws three cards as Yuga controls the 3500 ATK "Magnum Overlord". Tiger Normal Summons "Brassaxophone the Music Princess" (1000/1200) and "Boton the Music Princess" (0/500). Tiger Tributes "Brassax" and "Sansetsukontra" to Tribute Summon "Ensembullfighter the Music Fiend" (2200/2200).

Tiger activates the Spell Card "Fusion", Fusion Summoning a monster from her Extra Deck using monsters she controls as materials. Tiger fuses "Brassax" and "Boton" to Fusion Summon "Full Orchestra the Music Fiend‎" (2900/2900) in Attack Position. Tiger activates the Spell Card "Music Princess's Duet", choosing a face-up Warrior Type monster she controls with 3000 or less ATK to shuffle a number of WIND Attribute Warrior Type monsters from her Graveyard into her Deck equal to the chosen monster's Level and increase the ATK of the chosen monster equal to its original ATK until the end of the turn. She chooses the Level 9 "Full Orchestra" and shuffles two copies of "Horn Knives", "Trumpetonfa", "Nuncharinet", "Clubinet", "Sansetsukontra", "Brassax", "Ensembullfighter" and "Boton" from her Graveyard into her Deck ("Full Orchestra": 2900/2900 → 5800/2900). One of Yuga's Set cards is shown to be "Dark Revelation". Tiger Sets a card. Tiger activates the effect of "Full Orchestra", sending a card from her hand to the Graveyard to destroy all Set cards in Yuga's Spell & Trap Zones, and if she destroys a card with this effect, "Full Orchestra" gains 600 ATK for each card destroyed. Tiger sends "Ophiclaymore" from her hand to her Graveyard and destroys Yuga's Set "Curtain of Sparks" and "Dark Revelation" ("Full Orchestra": 5800/2900 → 7000/2900). "Full Orchestra" attacks and destroys "Magnum Overlord" (Yuga: 4000 → 500 LP).

Turn 3: Yuga
Yuga draws "Road Magic - Tectonic Shift", "Mr. Alchemy", "Steel Mech Lord Mirror Innovator", "Sevens Glory", and "Swordsman of Roadstar". Yuga Normal Summons "Mr. Alchemy" (100/500). As he controls no other monsters, Yuga activates the effect of "Mr. Alchemy", sending it to the Graveyard to add "Straynge Cat" from his Graveyard to his hand, then he can draw a card, but if he draws a card with this effect, he cannot attack with Level 6 or lower monsters this turn. He adds "Straynge Cat" from his Graveyard to his hand, then draws "Fusion". Yuga Normal Summons "Swordsman of Roadstar" (1200/500). As Yuga controls a LIGHT Attribute monster, he activates the Spell Card "Sevens Glory", sending a Level 7 LIGHT Attribute monster from his hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon "Sevens Road Magician" from his Graveyard, and if he does, its Level is increased by 2 until the end of the turn. He sends "Mirror Innovator" from his hand to the Graveyard and Special Summons "Sevens Road Magician" (2100/1500) from his Graveyard in Attack Position ("Sevens Road Magician": Level 7 → Level 9). As Yuga controls a Level 7 or higher Spellcaster Type monster, he activates the Spell Card "Road Magic - Tectonic Shift", sending an EARTH Attribute monster from his Graveyard to his hand to choose a face-up monster Tiger controls and reduce its ATK equal to the ATK of the monster with the highest ATK in his Graveyard until the end of this turn. He sends "Straynge Cat" from his hand to the Graveyard and chooses "Full Orchestra", with the 2400 ATK "Mirror Innovator" being the monster with the highest ATK in his Graveyard ("Full Orchestra": 2900/2900 → 500/2900). Yuga activates the Spell "Fusion", fusing "Sevens Road Magician" and "Swordsman of Roadstar" to Fusion Summon "Sevens Paladin" (2900/2400) in Attack Position. Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Paladin", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to either increase its ATK by 400 for each monster with a different Attribute in each player's Graveyard or shuffle one monster from his Graveyard into his Deck and draw a card. He sends "Wind Spirit's Protection" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard and chooses to apply the first effect, so there are six monsters with different Attributes between Yuga and Tiger's Graveyards ("Sevens Paladin": 2900/2400 → 5300/2400). "Sevens Paladin" attacks "Full Orchestra", but as a Level 8 or higher WIND Attribute Warrior Type monster Tiger controls was targeted for an attack, she activates her Set Trap Card "Music Princess's Requiem", decreasing the ATK of the attacking monster by its Level x 600 until the end of the turn. "Sevens Paladin" is Level 9, so it loses 5400 ATK ("Sevens Paladin": 5300/2400 → 0/2400). The attack continues and "Sevens Paladin" is destroyed (Yuga: 500 → 0 LP).

Featured cards

The following cards appeared in this episode. Cards in italics debuted here.

Notes

  1. Only the bottom of the border of this card is shown, but Yuga is later shown to believe himself able to activate "Dark Revelation", which requires four Spellcaster Type monsters to be returned from the Graveyard to the Deck to be activated, so this card must have been another Spellcaster Type monster.
