AppearanceEdit

Gozaburo's appearance in the series is identical to that seen in the manga. He is a tall man with a broad frame and slightly tanned skin. His eyes and short, flat cut hair are a dark brown, as are his prominent sideburns. His large mustache and eyebrows are black in color. During his only appearance in the series, he is shown wearing an olive green business suit, yellow shirt, and red tie. He is also shown smoking a large cigar during his meeting with Seto.

BiographyEdit

Gozaburo was the CEO of Kaiba Corporation and the adoptive father of both Seto and Mokuba Kaiba. He is known to have raised Seto as his successor within Kaiba Corporation, training him to be ruthless and uncaring to the disappointment of the family butler Daimon. Prior to the events of the series, he was conducting business in Europe and had left control of his company's headquarters in Japan to Seto.

Near the end of the series, Gozaburo returned from his business and arrives at Kaiba Corp via helicopter. Displeased with the fact Kaibaland exceeded its allotted construction budget by three times what he allowed, he called Seto and the other executives of the company to a meeting room within the building. Though he intended to remove Seto from his position as acting CEO of the company and punish him, Seto revealed that the other executives had sided with him against Gozaburo and were planning to oust him from the company.

In disbelief, Gozaburo panicked. Seto told him that those who lose in the game of life do not deserve to live, saying that it was a favored phrase of Gozaburo himself. This prompted him to look out the window behind him at the street several stories below, possibly contemplating suicide like his manga counterpart. However, he collapsed on the ground after this. His fate is unknown beyond this point.
