High Tide Gyojin (character)

High Tide Gyojin, previously Root Water, is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters anime. It is based on the "Root Water" and "High Tide Gyojin" cards.

Root Water was a monster dwelling in the sea territory of the World of Capsule Monsters. It evolved into High Tide Gyojin, after a battle with Thunder Kid.[1]

Biography

High Tide Gyojin, as Root Water

Root Water attacked Téa Gardner, Tristan Taylor, Happy Lover and Thunder Kid after seeing them on a beach. Thunder Kid tried to fight back with an electric attack, which Root Water blocked with a wall of water. It then fired a number of blasts of water at Thunder Kid, injuring both him and Tristan, until they were healed by Happy Lover. Since Root Water had been able to block Thunder Kid's previous attack, Tristan came up with another strategy. Root Water attacked Thunder Kid again, but this time Tristan pushed Thunder Kid into the air, putting the sun to his back, allowing him to blindside Root Water. The attack was successful, but Root Water's skin cracked away afterwards and it grew larger, as it transformed into High Tide Gyojin.

Tristan thought he and his companions would have no trouble beating High Tide Gyojin again, but Thunder Kid and Happy Lover cowered behind a rock. High Tide Gyojin created a twister, which sucked in Téa, Tristan, Happy Lover and Thunder Kid. They were then rescued by Solomon Muto, who got Summoned Skull to defeat High Tide Gyojin with a more powerful electric attack.[1]
