Jean-Claude Magnum was a star in Hollywood and felt entitled to be able to get whatever he wanted. He met Mai Valentine and fell under the impression that she promised to marry him, if he beat her in a Duel. Although Mai denied making such a promise.
Some time later, Magnum met Mai again at the aquarium, during the Battle City tournament. He said it was about time she kept her promise and said that they needed to Duel. The player arrived while the two were talking. Mai needed to spend her time preparing for the finals, so she asked the player to do something about Magnum, whom she referred to as a stalker creep. She regraded Magnum as an amateur and was confident the player would win, so said she would marry Magnum if he won then left the aquarium as the two Dueled. The player won, but Magnum said he would work on his Deck and win Mai over for once and for all. Mai later thanked the player for beating Magnum, by giving him the card, "Cyber Harpie".
The following cards can be won from Magnum by the ante rule, provided the player does not wager a low-level ante card. The chance of winning a card is indicated by the "%" (chance out of 100) and "2048th" (chance out of 2048) columns.
