Kate is a receptionist, working at the apartment tower where Misty Tredwell lives.
She refuses to let Carly see Misty, under her instructions to not allow any unexpected guests. However Misty arrives and tells Kate that Carly is an acquaintance, before inviting Carly to her home. In the English version, Carly calls Kate a guard dog.
