Gems are the primary currency in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, used to purchase resources like card packs and Structure Decks.
Players can hold up to 10,000 free gems, after which any further gems are sent to their mailbox which expire in 30 days. Players can hold up to 99,999 paid gems. Barring this distinction, free and paid gems serve the same purpose.
Obtaining Gems
You gain gems (without microtransactions) by:
- Login bonuses (20 Gems per day, 50 Gems every tenth and twentieth day in a month)
- Live Duel Replays (5 per day)
- Post-Duel rewards (up to 100 per day total)
- Duel Pass
- Daily Missions (40 per mission; up to 3 new missions per day, and you can store up to 9 total)
- Lifetime Missions
- Event Missions (up to 3000 total, varies depending on event)
- Solo Mode (most Gates has a level that awards 200 Gems on completion)
New Player Tips
Gems are a valuable resource and it's in everyone's interest to make the most of them. The initial login bonuses shower you with a lot of them but they dry up quickly after the first few weeks of play. For best value:
- Purchase the pack bundles which give 10 Master Packs and a free staple UR for just 750 Gems. You'll fill out your collection quickly and get an important staple (Ash, Lightning Storm, Solemn, Imperm, Droplet, Nibiru) that you'll want in most Decks.
- Three copies of a Structure Deck gets you the contents of a complete Deck for a total of 1500 Gems.
- Dragonmaid-To-Order gets you a decent Dragonmaid Deck that has the components to develop a Dragon Link deck.
- Burning Spirits gets you a Salamangreat Deck that has three copies of Cynet Mining that are crucial to all Cyberse Decks. The extra Deck is mostly complete, just fill out with Accesscode Talker, Update Jammer and Miragestallio.
- Immortal Glory combined with the Heir to the Shiranui-Style structure off Solo Mode can get you a Zombie Synchro Deck. An important craft to finish this Deck is Doomking Balerdroch.
