"Kozmo" is a TCG exclusive archetype debuting in Clash of Rebellions.
The archetype consists of Psychic-Type "pilot" monsters and Machine-Type "spaceship" monsters who banish themselves to Special Summon other "Kozmo" monsters. The pilot monsters have a Quick Effect to banish themselves from the field to Special Summon any "Kozmo" monster from the hand with a higher Level, while the spaceship monsters have a Trigger Effect to banish themselves from the Graveyard when destroyed to Special Summon any "Kozmo" monster from the Deck with a lower Level.
So far, almost all monsters in the archetype have been LIGHT-Attribute, with the exception of the DARK-Attribute "Kozmoll Wickedwitch".
The archetype also seems to include several effects that manipulate the player's LP, with some cards requiring the player to lose/pay LP, and some restoring them, similar to the initial Psychic-Type monsters.
Origin
The "Kozmo" cards seem to be based on properties from The Wizard of Oz and Star Wars. The pilot monsters are based on characters, the spaceship monsters on objects and vehicles, and the Field Spell Card on a location.
Class | Kozmo card | Wizard of Oz | Star Wars |
---|---|---|---|
Pilot | Kozmo Farmgirl | Dorothy Gale | Obi-Wan Kenobi |
Spaceship | Kozmo Forerunner | Silver Shoes | Millennium Falcon |
Pilot | Kozmo Goodwitch | Good Witch of the North | Qui-Gon Jinn |
Spaceship | Kozmo Sliprider | Ruby slippers | X-wing starfighter |
Pilot | Kozmoll Wickedwitch | Wicked Witch of the East / Wicked Witch of the West | Darth Maul |
Other | Kozmotown | Emerald City | Coruscant |
Other | Kozmo Lightsword | Currently unknown | Lightsaber |
Playing style
The "Kozmo" strategy generally focuses on dealing large amounts of damage as fast as possible through winning battles rather than more complicated card combos. The "Kozmo" monsters themselves have few removal effects, so instead must focus on their attacks. Fortunately, their Summoning Quick Effects can make up for this lack of removal, and they can work well with both "Honest" and "Juragedo" to ensure damage.
