Aleister Crowley

Aleister Crowley (アレイスター・クロウリー Areisutā Kurourī) is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Stories manga, and the main character of the "Magistus" story. He is the character version of the card "Crowley, the Magistus of Grimoires", who is named after the real-world Aleister Crowley. His namesake is also mentioned in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! manga.

Design

Personality

Crowley is a young boy who has a cheery and bright outlook on life. Enjoying the use of magic, Crowley has an open mind of what magic can do, and what can be achieved with it compared to Endymion, who had a stricter view on magic. While Crowley can be somewhat rash and optimistic, especially when focused on his research or being excited at the thought of fighting powerful magic users, Spoon describes Crowley as one with no grudges against the world.

This outlook was caused by Crowley's relationship with his adoptive grandfather, a retired scholar who raised him and didn't judge or shun Crowley for his magic. Encouraging Crowley that if magic users do good, then those with magic may be seen in better light which Crowley took to heart. Remembering his grandfather fondly even after the man died of age and joining the magic users of Graybeard.

Abilities

Despite being young, Crowley is a very talented and powerful magic user that holds the rank of Magistus. Crowly's magic and research study lies in the summoning of 'otherworldly' spirits from different worlds: Invocation as he calls it.

He is sensitive to disturbances in mana, and is capable of track down where the disruption lies at. With his sensitivity to mana, Crowley is capable of determining and differing his world's mana and another realms mana. Crowley is also skilled in making magic circles which can absorb mana and use for later. Though if he absorbs to much, his magic circles explode. Also, if misused, Crowley can unintentionally Fuse smaller spirits of another world into a powerful threat that can withstand even Endymion and Rilliona's attacks.

Alongside Rilliona, Endymion, and Zoroa, Crowley can also summon his own Guardian from another world: Aiwass
