BiographyEdit

The Sacred CardsEdit

Mai met Jean-Claude Magnum, who fell under the impression that she agreed to marry him, if he beat her in a Duel. Although Mai denied ever making such a promise.

One of the generic Duelists saw Mai as a role model and was inspired by her to become a Duelist. It was her dream to Duel against Mai.

Mai took part in the Battle City tournament. She met the player at the Clock Tower Square and informed him of her intention to defeat Joey Wheeler. The player challenged her to a Duel, which she declined since the tournament had not begun yet.

The player met Mai outside the building. She accepted a Duel, but would not wager a Locator Card, since she already had five and hoped to win her sixth from Joey. She left after the Duel to find Joey.

Tristan Taylor informed Mai that Joey and Tea Gardner had been taken captive by Ghouls. Mai suggested that they ask Seto Kaiba to use the transponder in Joey's Duel Disk to locate them. Mai and Tristan went to the toy shop, where they got the player and Yugi Muto to follow up with that idea, while she and Tristan continued to search for more leads.

Mai later won her last Locator Card, qualifying her for the finals.

Jean-Claude Magnum met Mai at the aquarium, where he said it was about time she kept her promise and that they needed to Duel. The player arrived while the two were talking. Mai needed to spend her time preparing for the finals, so she asked the player to do something about Magnum, whom she referred to as a stalker creep. She regraded Magnum as an amateur and was confident the player would win, so said she would marry Magnum if he won then left the aquarium as the two Dueled.

Mai went to the stadium site for the next stage of the tournament. When Joey arrived late, Mai told him that she had begun to worry that he might have been knocked out. Before boarding the airship, Mai thanked the player for beating Magnum. Despite thinking it was wrong to give cards to opponents, she give him the card, "Cyber Harpie", in gratitude.
