Card Trivia:Shining Sarcophagus
Revision as of 02:38, 11 November 2023 by Ascriptmaster (talk | contribs) (Third sub-bullet didn't seem like it needed to be sub-sub-bulleted as its effect is not based directly on its anime/manga effect, but rather how it was used to negate Monster Reborn and how Slifer appeared and disappeared. Could probably be worded better.)
- This card is a retrained counterpart of "Gold Sarcophagus".
- This card's first effect is likely meant as a protection against the effect of "Geas Gandora the Dragon of Destruction", a monster effect that destroys all cards on the field, with "Geas Gandora" being directly related to this card.
- This card's second effect is based on the effect of "Gold Sarcophagus" in the OCG/TCG, which adds any card from the Deck to the hand (after two turns), while this card can add a card from the Deck to the hand that mentions this card's name.
- This card's third effect and artwork are based on a scene during the Rite of the Duel in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga (the Battle Ritual in the anime), where Yugi Muto opens the "Gold Sarcophagus" to reveal the "Monster Reborn" he had previously banished with its effect. This allows him to negate and destroy Yami Yugi's own "Monster Reborn" when the latter attempts to use it to Special Summon "Slifer the Sky Dragon" from his Graveyard; this negation is depicted as if "Slifer" is sent to the GY after being Summoned.
