In the English version, his name is changed to Rio, who is a character from the previous Tag Force games, known as Ryo Kato in the Japanese version.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 5 and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 6, he is replaced by Kozo Nishino.

In the first event of Mina Simington's story, the Player and Mina challenge Rio and Simon to a duel.

Rio has unique lines when he passes by the Stadium while partnered with the player.
